Yes! I always thought sliders would be first to go on but it's painfully obvious the rear bumper is the first armor mod any 200 owner should consider. I'm holding out for the slee no-carrier. Don't want to deal with swing outs.

I would definitely go sliders first. I am at a point where the rear bumper is the only stock part remaining on the underside that susceptible to frequent hits.

For as many times as it looks like that's touched down, surprised it's hasn't just ripped off.

What rear bumper are you looking at? Same question to @tbisaacs ? Slee?

I still want a rear bumper slider! Along the lines of the Kayamar rear but with tube construction. Wishing someone make such a thing. I'm almost bored enough with a tube bender in the garage.

Maybe it's the way I drive (somewhat conservative), but other than a few scrapes the the factory AHC guards, I haven't really had a need. I hit or scrape my rear bumper in some form almost every time I go out. Even Christo admitted the factory guards are pretty good all things considered.

My sills would be trashed without sliders.

I trashed my stock running boards in a parking lot. Clearly sliders for the way I drive… :steer:

Dissent. I put my name in the queue, and will wait patiently for my turn. Definitely worth the wait.

Tube is a good idea, but I'd want to lop off 6" from the bottom for it to work.

Well got myself in a tough spot yesterday. Combine a tight spot with a poor line and no spotter… bumpers I don’t really care about, I’ve destroyed my front and rear already but this hurts a bit.

Looks contained to the door 👌🏽. Have you checked car-part.com? Looks like an 08', 11' & 13'. I'd be happy it wasn't dragged down the fender or rear door too 😉
Completely agree. The door was consciously sacrificed. It’s funny, I widened the truck that morning trying a smaller offset. The extended tire track width forced me to take a s***tier line. If I had that 2.5 inches I added I would have slid by the rock that pushed me into it this predicament.

I was able to pop the whole thing out with some boiling water and a plunger. It’s acceptable at this point lol. I’ll keep my eye out for a door on car-part.com, otherwise I’ll have it properly repaired back east.

It comes with the territory. Don’t get me wrong It initially hurt, now it’s more of a… it is what it is mentality.

I have a similar perspective about damage. Glad it popped out fairly well 👍🏼

I'm not sure I'd buy a Rival aluminum skid again for how I'm using my vehicle.

I put about 300lbs on it, and it didn't return a bit in the right direction.

I guess it did it's job, but it is more sacrificial than I'd like, for the money involved. I think it is time for steel, I wish I'd just bought full steel skids to begin with...

Maybe time to buy a dedicated offroad vehicle...

Wow! That's an impressive bend. Steel is a good call for a 200 like yours that is wheeled aggressivley. It its makes you feel any better just imagine the outcome if you were still using the tin metal stock skid.
Lol I also ask myself that same question about a dedicated wheeler... I cringe thinking about what I could have bought after calculating the amount I have spent building my 200.

Budbuilt 3/16" Aluminum skids fare a lot better. They are definitely doing their job. Despite being pretty dinged up and a bit scuffed, they've prevented any damage to the vehicle.

Yeah, I hear that! For the cost of armor alone you could buy a pretty capable beater.
