You should be able to get an adapter/fitting to attach to the CO2 tank, and then put what ever you want after that. I run an O2 guage from a OXY/Acetylene setup. Tells me how much liquid I have left, and can set the output pressure. Just put an air chuck on the output of the guage and you are golden. Any compressed gas distributor should have it, or be able to order it. I think I am into mine for less than $75($20 for used regulator, +/-$30 for the adapter(not sure,it was a long time ago)) Add a couple of quick connects from Harbour Freight, and ther you go. I have 3 or 4 20lb tanks. I think only 2 are with in the inspection time frame.

Update on my regulator:

I had been using an O2 regualtor with the CO2 connector. Well this reg. finally gave up the ghost. It stopped regulating, so I started looking for a replacement. I did not want to pay the +$200 for the power taqnk setup. I have found what I believe is the equivelent to the power tank regulator. It is a regualtor used by HVAC contractors to purge the refrigerant lines with nitrogen. It has a flow range from 0-450 psi and will not freeze. The innards are made of stainless steel vs. the neoprene that is commonly used in O2 regulators. Over time the neoprene will break down as mine did. Here is the regulator: http://store.cyberweld.com/smnirehvpuh1.html

I am sure that you can go to you welding supply store and order on with the appropriate connector for a CO2 tank, but it might cost more. Don't know, since I will just swap the one I have on my current setup. The required connector for CO2 tanks is CGA 320. Any welding supply store should be able to set you up with the adapter. Last time I bought one it was around $20-30.

All you have to do is change out the tank connector to one for a CO2 tank and put a quick connect on it. You are done and it is substantially cheaper than the other setups. Good luck.

Adam,

Another piece of nice work! Especially for the larger tank.

Has anyone mounted a Source tank style metal bracket onto the floor next to the 3rd row seat bracket, passenger side?

I am thinking of using the 4 bolt holes on the base of the bracket and drilling 4 holes through the floor, using some stainless hardware and large washers, and mounting it this way. Has anyone done this and have pics?

Here is my Co2 mount. My goal was to retain the 3rd row seat and not hack up the interior to much. I only had to do some minor trimming to the interior panel where it meets the carpet and did not drill any holes in the body.
I used the two mounting holes for the cargo hook on the floor and the two captured nuts behind the interior panel next to the seat belt mount. You can see in the second picture that I added a vertical support for the tank bracket and the second cargo hook mount bolt. The tank handle in the last picture has about 2" of clearance from the hatch glass with the 15lb. tank.

I don't run a roof rack all the time, so I mounted mine on the rear bumper's ladder. Bought a couple of clamp mounts of the type used to mount accessories to roll cages, and drilled four new holes on the mount. Works well, it's hard to see in the picture but there's still enough space to use the ladder. I have a neoprene cover with a velcro cinch that covers the valve, works great so far.

Hey man, I know you posted this years ago but do you happen to have any pics of your CO2 mount on the ladder? And maybe some of the cover on the regulator?
I have an 08 GX470 and am about to put a ladder on the rear and really want to add a CO2 mount. Not sure if I need to weld it on or can drill and mount it. I'm running a 20lb tank too.

Appreciate any info. Thanks!

Here are a few of the bracket with the CO2 tank from The Source installed. I've subsequently rotated the tank so the regulator faces the rear of the truck and with the supplied air hose, I can reach all four tires thru the rear without taking the tank out. You could also route the air hose out the passenger doors or rear sliding windows.

I've been very happ with it. No rattles, nothing. It's solid.

I have a used 3rd row seat bracket on the way so that I can make the same type of co2 mount. Anything you would do different after using this for a while? I will be bolting my co2 mount on the welded on platform, just for versatility. Thanks for the inspiration here, it's the perfect solution.

I mounted my 15lb powertank to the spare tire mount on my Slee bumper using a receiver system that Tim at Gamiviti carries. Works great and I have enough slack on my Trash-a-roo to go over the tank and protect the tank a bit. The coiled line is long enough to reach all four tires.

Never had an issue with the mount at all. It's long gone, replaced with a Puma air compressor andandcruiserphil's mount usung the same 3rd row mounting bolt locations. Loved the quicker air up from CO2, but unlimited air from the compressor won out. That and closest refill place that would refill and not replace was about a half hour away.
