yah, i used the 4" I beam for the cross and with the alloy planking it was a PERFECT fit.
overall, it was a bit more expensive than originally planned on but then this is the "money pit" so such is life.
the paint came back wickedly with a few hours of cut and polish and wax, even the original Japanese decal on the door came back.

once the exhaust is installed then i can start driving it more, a bit loud right now.

thanks for the lead their Louis, a LOT faster than a full on custom job.

Nice red 75 mate the white wheels and roof gave it a instant top look no quarta windows were they an option? i love the front bar with chrome bits are you going to put your "special" mud tyres on it

My 75, still needs bigger boots, lengthen front DS,x-link front end, and turbo :D it never ends lol.

no special mud tires for this one, this is a working truck and the 8 ft bed would suck off road.

i wanted the "old time Land Cruiser" look so the top and rims became like the old 45 series.

the stainless bits on the bumper are in excellent shape and great for sitting on when drinking your coffee when out cutting a load of wood.

there is an additional coolant tank with a Toyota tag attached to it where a factory winch would go. it ahs the large lower rad hose going to and from it with a small "heater" hose out each end going to and from the block. not sure what it supposed to do, anyone have an idea?

the truck will (some time in the future) get drop down sides and removeable alloy rack, elec rear diff and 8274 up front. but no hurry on that.

thanks for the compliment.
cheers

Your 75 looks absolutely nuts
Might need some rear flaps before you get a yellow likki though :)

PinkFloyd - truck looks awesome! What is the link to your coil build? What shocks did you get and how much travel do they have? Mine doesn't have enough flex right now, might move the shock mount.

check it out on outerlimits4x4, search "coiled 75"
12" bilsteins front and rear , think its about 755mm fully extended, and yer you'll never get the radius arm setup to flex good with out going x-link or 3 link front.

HZJ 71

my wifes old daily driver and our work horse a HZJ 71,
rebuilt with HZJ 70 parts to avoid the plastic stuff, fitted bug catcher windows and the PTO winch. The plain rear bumper is sold out so we had to close the holes for the modern lights in the bumper. We left it on 7.5 R16 tires and 6.5 split rims from the HZJ 105 (most pics though show the firestone winter tires on 6.0 rims)

In order to fit the mechanical winch from the HZJ 70/73/75 the radiator has to be liftet, everything else just fits...

miss the car and just looked over the pics, maybe you like to see them too ...

Soenke, what are those switches at the bottom of the center console in the back for? I've always wondered because my 71 has some plugs under the center console and I don't know what they are for, but I assume it has soemthing to do with those switches.

That is a very nice 70, too bad you had to get rid of it.
