Hi All:

Hey, keep the posts and photos of your 70 Series coming (you lucky buggers! :D )

Regards,

Alan

Wait... Really? Ugh. Color me misguided. I hadn't seen this model, did some searches, found this page:
LC75main

and thought I had the right car, though heavily modified. What am I missing?

Apologies, and much thanks in advance for the early education. I've only recently become fascinated by these cars, so I'm learning.

Hi All:

Look here for some more info on the 55 Series TLC:

FJ55 Specs

This web page unfortunately only covers the USA-spec FJ55 model. There were apparently also versions for other markets that used the "B" Series I-4 diesel engine and featuring dual vertical rear doors (aka "barn doors.")

Regards,

Alan

i have yet to see any proof of a FACTORY BJ55.
there is no listing of serial numbers for the mythological diesel powered 55.
the vertical barn rear doors are cool...

Hi All:

Wayne, so as far as you know the only engines used in the 55 Series were the "F" and "2F"?

I thought that I had read of a JDM-spec version using the 2B engine.

I've also heard of a FJ56. Is the "56' referring to the rear "barn door" version?

Regards,

Alan

P.S. 70/75 Series folks - this is your Land Cruiser history lesson of the day! :D

the 56 pertains to the barn door configuration but someone might add to this.
the 2B was never introduced into the JDM 55 series or it would be listed under the "B" series serial number date registry.
there is rumoured to be a BJ55 in Holand but no one has confirmed the serial number as a BJ55, i am guessing it is a transplanted 3B. there is also a swapped in BJ55 on this board from BC, the names eludes me right now. he built it for his daughter....

Just an update on mine. Front diff has been replaced, and now supercharger is installed. Picture is a bit blurry but you get the idea....

Thanks CruiserDan

Regarding : rear bumper of 1985bj70

simple, clean, functional... i like it.

I couldn't agree more.

Mine is very similar, except it is a rusty piece of SHS cut to shape. I have to fab up the mounting brackets, and add some cutouts for tow hitch, recovery tabs and reversing lights.

Another one of those jobs on the 'to do' list
