Drove down to Lake Powell, it is a long drive in the 80 for my old dog. I had pulled the back seats out to give him more room but evidently the floor is pretty hard for an old dog's bones. Didn't know that the front seats folded flat, but the old man was happy they did.

I love dans! they may seem brainless and goofy but they are no dummies. They were bred to hunt dangerous boars and as guard dogs afterall. Well at least the ones I had before, I miss them dearly.

Couldn't agree more. He's a happy idiot that defines the term Attention Whore, but a superb companion and outstanding guard dog- we only had him for two weeks when he chased off a full grown mountain lion that had gotten within 40 feet of my 6 year old daughter in our back yard.

Once I got finished dry heaving over what could have happened, puppy got himself a well earned steak that night.

That really sums it up for Danes, biggest lapdogs ever and yet fiercely protective at the same time. When I had mine they LOVED the neighbor hood kids! The boy literally looked at all the kids eye to eye while on fours. He would whip my leg with that huge tail of his all the time due to excitement and yet both of their tails would be dead still when the kids are around. They would never run over any kids while running around with them and the boy was especially protective and would charge and investigate any car or person goes near the kids when playing in the cu de sac. They are such attention whores and yet their awareness of situations and who is who is uncanning. They knew who are our neighbors and who is new.

The biggest tragedy of owning a Dane is that their health problems and short life span. Enjoy and take good care of your pup(he will always be the biggest puppy) while you can, they are precious. Every time I think about them and remember the good times we had, someone is always cutting some onions. :)

My boy and girl's name were tiny and mini. Sadly I didn't have a cruiser back then, I would of taken them to many many places.

I am not sure if this one has been done or not. But, I thought it would be good idea to see what type of dogs we have. I have a GSD. He is 11 months old. I have a lower ramp for him that extends out the back gate. It helps him get in&out of my LC given I am running 38s. He is already 80lbs.:)

My pics will follow, as soon as I reduced them in size for posting.

I wansnt the only one anxious to get out of the 80 after grueling traffic snarled drive home that took all day. Funny how they can tell when your getting close to home.

My dude trying to keep warm on a cold Eastern Sierras morning. You know how most dogs go crazy if you say the "W" word (walk)? If I say "adventure" he totally starts to freak out. He's the perfect overlanding/camping dog. He fits everywhere, he doesn't get car sick, and he has stamina for days!

The boys are thinking it's time to go camping. Sorry fellas...gotta wait a few more days. They sure like the 80.
