I've posted a few times and have been in the market for a GX. I think I've found an excellent deal at this point, but want to make sure I didn't miss anything from the perspective of current owners.

2006 GX470
66k mi
Terrible tan
Non Nav
Not 1st owner
Missing third row seat
WP and TB will need to be replaced.
No visible cosmetic issues.

Just dropped price to 11k.

Big concern is history, which I'm running carfax now. Anything y'all think I should look at in particular? Very tempted to pounce.

It only has 66k miles! Many of us have had to pay $16k-$19k for one with 10-20k more miles on it.

Jump on it the only service it has needed is an oil change, maybe brake pads, and you will update all other fluids anyway so you will have a baseline.

try to check out the service if you can, car fax might not show everything, some indi's do not report to car fax. non nav to me is a plus. do you need the third row seats?

Just got carfax back; extensive damage without airbag deployment. Not sure what I think.

Eh third row would be nice to have, but not needed.

There are enough GX's out there that I would pass on one with extensive accident damage.

Plenty of other GX's out there. No need to get something with extensive damage history.

For the price I would will still consider purchasing it as well, but I would go over it with a fine tooth comb. Are there any visible signs of the damage? Was the frame damaged? Look at where all the body panels meet for signs of poor fitting. Check out all the doors to make sure the close properly and don't rattle. I had a friend whose windshield whistled on his landcruiser after it was in an accident and he could never get it to go away. Look for irregular tire wear or have a shop inspect it for any alignment issues. Give it a healthy road test to see if there's any weird rattles, noises or other issues when going down the highway.

A good piece of advice is find out when it was wrecked. Was it recently and the owners are dumping it? Or was it years and years ago and the same owners are now trying to sell it. That's an indication it's either been totally fine for them or a complete basket case.

i have a friend in dallas selling their 3 row seats for $100. they're tan.

At that price id also consider buying it as well. If you're planning on keeping it for a long time, who cares about resale.

this. also, depends on if it is going to be your DD or if you're building it to be an off road rig only. make sure frame is straight. also, check on CarFax which owner did the damage. first owner may have wrecked it and second guy didn't do homework and may be dumping b/c it isn't 'right'. also look to see how long 2nd owner had it.
