Some very nice bug screens arrived yesterday from Strawfoot Handmade
info@strawfoothandmade.com There are two for the front windows and two for the rear sliding windows. The material seems to be very nice quality and they attach with magnets.

I have an idea how I will do the back door. A screen that opens in the middle is available on Amazon branded as Magzo. I'll order a 60x80 and cut it to fit. Will likely take it to the cleaners and have it hemmed.

Strawfoot makes a nice product and are easy to do business with.

I've been carrying around a ladder to get into and out of the back of the troopy. The ladder is/was kind of a PIA as it was kept in the isle of the truck when not in use. Something else to have to find a spot for and set up.

Nick at Ryan Trailers in Estacada, OR has fabbed a step that uses the receiver hitch.

Basically I wanted three steps. There are two on the ladder itself and the third step is the bumper. The ladder folds completely up so nothing is below the trailer hitch.

I will take it to powder coating next week and will likely glue padding like is used in a horse stall onto the steps. Shouldn't be slick or rough on bare feet. In an ideal world the steps would have been wider but that wasn't an option given the space limitations.

It's quite functional and I think it's a clever design.

Wow that is very small , how many seconds does that give you at full blast ?

I carry a factory one in my troopy and actually 2 in my crawler once oil gas or interior parts start burning it aint easy to get it completely out.

Says it runs for 50 seconds.

Trying to keep this build related but a pic from the weekend at the Turning Earth Music Festival near Dallas......Oregon.

A pic of my daughters goat Hazel. The other (Clover) wasn't in the picture. They haul these things around in the back of their car.

Oregon....yea that's how we do it out here.

The Troopy was in the capable hands of Josh Harper at Willamette Blvd Auto in Portland last week.

All the fluids and filters were inspected/replaced. Steering and Suspension lubed. Tires rotated with the spare put into play which should give me 20% more life. The rear wheel cylinders were replace as the truck sounded like a trash truck when stopping. Nice and quiet now. Additional rock lights were added to the awning for more light over the trax table. I used the lights this weekend and they make a big difference on the drivers side of the truck towards the front door when cooking. There was a leak on the passenger side firewall and that has been repaired. The en Suite shower stall is installed. The rear fuel tank sender was replaced so I now have an accurate read on the contents of the 50 gallon! tank.

Josh tried to install the water tank but it doesn't fit. Meeting the fabricator tomorrow and he's going to give it a haircut. Maybe installation hopefully later this summer.

A pic of me camping on the Oak Fork of the Clackamas river about 90 mins outside of Portland this weekend. Summers in Oregon are off the chart. I've camped out every weekend in June and all weekends in July are booked as camping as well. Loving life and the camper!

I had the step Rhino lined at Rhino Linings of Vancouver. I'm liking this step after using it for the first time this weekend. The steps are on the small side but I'm getting used to them and know where they are after the weekend.

After the step was Rhino Lined the pin that holds it up when driving doesn't want to go in. I could probably round out the hole but with the add on Rhino the step fights tighter against the tire. So....at least for the time being not pin is needed. Great. I'll keep an eye on it to see if it continues to work but I can't imagine that the spare tire is going to wear off the lining and if it does it will take a very long time. I'm going to drag back the roof post...

What adhesive did you use? I'm struggling to find the Soul High Tack in Dubai in black (Grey car/black roof) and wondered if anyone had any opinions of Sikaflex 221 or 512 as an alternative, both of which are available?

Thanks

We used SikaFlex. I have attached the invoice.

Thanks. Checking what is available here so we can get my roof fitted today. biggest problem is the temperatures are well in to the 40's (110+)

A few pics from the July 4th weekend in the John Day river area near Mitchell, OR. First pic is the ascent to the overview on pic 2. Pic 3 is camping on the John Day. My daughter drove the grey land cruiser. It was good to get it out again and see her enjoying it. I think she's rapidly becoming a land cruiser person. I've had it since she was a teen and she's mid-30's now. Good past memories and building good future ones.
