Nice, huh? :D This will be for a bobbed, supercharged, locked, roll-caged FZJ-80 with 37" Krawlers. Oh yeah, notice the CTIS?

P.S. Sorry if I can't respond to the q's later, as I'll be away packing most of my stuff for the trip back home to Philippines... And getting myself drunk as it's the Christmas season like any self-respecting Asian latino would :flipoff2:

What is the story on those axles?

They look like those are Ford 9" centers.

    Who made them?

Were those made by Steve G. in Florida? They are very nice.

What ratio are the 9" gears?

Those are nice looking axles, dont get me wrong, but they are nowhere near as strong as Unimog portals.

Nor do they offer the same clearence. If one were going to the trouble of creating portals, why use Bummer stuff?

I went with the Ford 9" and Hummvee portal box combo because versus a Unimog 'coz:
    1. it's lot less heavier
    2. I can go as low (and even lower than) 5.28", which is the correct ratio for the s/c'ed 1FZ-FE + A343F + HF2AV
    3. I originally wanted an FZJ-80 axle mated to the Hummer, but it had a lot more issues and so the Ford axle was more economical from an engineering point of view
    4. it's easier for me to get spares for it in Asia than the more rare Unimog stuff
