This makes the blood, sweat, tears, and $$$ of the last year or so a little easier. I've had swine flu since the late 60s when I worked for Toyota. Over the years I've watched Bronco's, Scouts, Jeep's values grow. But the quirky swine stayed undiscovered, unloved, unvalued.
Because my love (affliction) was not based on expected returns, just on respect and love for something that works, has been so forgiving, and has saved my bacon over and over again (no matter how many dumb, dumb things I do). A little over a year ago I decided to put a little lipstick on my pig. Like everyone here already knows, easier said than done - parts are difficult or impossible to find, vehicles designed and built for extended off road use more than 40 years ago are difficult to work on. With their quirky looks, friends and spouses look at us and think, (or say) why????
Well maybe now others are discovering what we have known for some time. SF (swine flu) isn't built on what we think we will get - but what we can give. The fellowship, support, encouragement and understanding from this group of fellow 'sufferers" has been critical to 'Hanging in there!'
I hope now that my "freshen her up" journey will be done by May (estimate revision 17 I think). Can't wait to spend days of summer with her traveling.
Thanks so much to all!
