Anyone running 37s on 17” FJC steelies? Pics would be appreciated. Trying to make a decision on a build.

Found this thread for 37”s. Suprisingly hard to find pics of any FJ60s on 37s

This is 80s with steelies and 37s but not really what you want

I have tons of pics on that setup…
Only been running it for +4 years
I’m 80-width too

How do you like the geolandars?

I liked them enough to replace them with a fresh set of the same thing earlier this year.
Hard to compare with other tires in terms of noise, wear etc as my 62 is pretty different then most
What I do know is I run them around 5psi off road without beadlocks and have never lost a bead or ripped a sidewall. And I use them. I ran my last set until they were completely toast

When you commit to 37's, you are committing to trails that are hard on sheet metal. That's fine too. I run about 40% (hrs not miles) off road but I can't bring myself to wheel it that hard. Dents and scratches are inevitable if you use it, but there is a lot to be said about drivers on 33-35" tires who spend more time wheeling and less time fixing broken drivetrain. Honestly, 37's are buggy territory and you could save a fortune by just building a buggy. That said, I have to tell myself this every time I start thinking of 35's and have decided to settle for 34's.

Not a hard core wheeler. Following the lead of a few that are like minded in how I handle my rig. Building a 60 on a 80 chassis that has more wheel clearance and trying to optimize for looks and function. 80 axles and transfer case, LS, 4L65E. It does add more strain, but not where I will be living.

CD. Go 35's. it will drive/handle/accelerate/stop better. CG will be 1" lower too. You aren't go to go beat that truck up anywhere the 37's would matter

Will see what works best when its loaded. Appreciate the feedback

Holy scrub radius Batman. Also RIP semi-float rear shafts

Did you decide on tires yet?
Matt's right saying 35's are are probably a better choice. Unless you just like how it looks!
I have 37's on fjcruiser wheel's and I'm not planning to beat it up, but it looks awesome! 35''s will also flex better without cutting the front inner fenders.

37 w/ fjcruiser wheels soa. these will rub. The 35's barely fit when flexing.

35'S flexing with the same reverse eye springs SOA. it sits a bit taller then a lj78 on 33's with 2.5 inch lift.

Same as Matt, 17s on 80 axles. I found that with the offset of the FJ Cruiser rims, the inside of the rear tire nearly
rides on the frame rail. Rubs the hell out of the fender well when articulating
Were you on 35s?
