We did a quick run to check out the Overland Expo last weekend in Flagstaff. Our croup consisted of:

Lynn and David Lawrence - Taco
Ali and Barry - Prius
Ron and Danielle gunderson - Sequoia

We met up with the Opel family in the G wagon. On Saturday morning the Lopez and Spradlin showed up in the Highlander.

I saw Christo and Mudrack talking and walking around in the show.

This was a neat event for checking out all things regarding camping and exploring. There were anything from mild to wild camping equipment - you're only limited to the size of your wallet!

I mostly took pics of the various campers and their equipment. There were lots of creativity abound that's for sure.

So, what did you think about the CampTEQ 80's. Did they have an idea about how much it would cost for the units?

Someone stole my truck and my tent in picture #34

I thought it was a brilliant design but the cost maybe prohibitive in the beginning for some at $6k  You have the option of selectively cutting your roof or not cutting at all. However, the thing does weight in around 120#s (I think), which is in line with most other RTTs out there. There were two 80's with this product and the second 80 cut only a limited amount and still kept his sunroof.

Good to see all that stuff without having to make the drive Ash! :D

What is photo #183 all about? And somebody had a TVan there I see...or a reasonable facsimile!

It looks good. I would still be a bit hesitant about cutting the roof up. Thanks for the photos and information.

Photo #183 are the springs under the mattress. This was in the XP Camper and I have never seen such a thing before.

Which picture # was the TVan? If it's the same thing I'm thinking about, an Austrailian couple brought it here during their tour.

Mattress springs?! Interesting!

#164-#166/167 (the tent guyline anchors in 167 are the same as KK supplies...they work incredibly well to buffer the wind gust stress from the tent fabric!

I have always liked the TVan design; less canvas and more hard sided...mo betta especially this very windy year! I used to subscribe to the sister publication of 4x4AU...their off-road trailer magazine...and read a couple reviews. They're very very well designed but need a bit more refinement to be in the KK league...maybe the 2012's are there dunno.

And it looks like the TVan design would be more conducive to electric or hydraulic assist open/closing!

I also see someone had a brand new looking KK Platinum Edition!

Looking at these photos it seems clear that the Means have become confused with the Ends.....

Yeah, I was thinking there were a lot of people with way more money than they know what to do with.
