Blinding!

Good question on the back up camera. I just ordered a pair this morning and never thought of that, are they to bright for the back up camera? I.e. will they blind the camera and make it non-usable?

I've had random people comment about my Pfran reverse lights, which is surprising. Everything from contractor types in large work pickups to guys in parking lots. Several of these have been in daylight, which says something about how bright they are. Had them for a year now and have them in wifeys ML Benz as well. They rock!

Sweet. Now for a toggle on/off for those people following too close w/ their head up their butt!

Who needs a back up camera with those reverse lights?!

Honestly, I have an aftermarket backup camera installed on the upper lift gate and the back up lights overpower it at night. Still, it is well worth it. :steer:

Yeah, I have a Kenwood, and the OEM brake lights almost overpower it. Didn't know if stock camera was better. Once you've had a camera, it's hard to go without it...

I have a factory back up camera and at least in the stock location it's not too bad in terms of glare. The Pfrans lights are pretty sweet, there is like a distinct line on the ground at like 7-10 ft away and it's all light.

Did you get the 5W version? I saw he has a 7W version now, but not sure if fits in the 100 series (it has some side pointed LEDs also).

I bot the pfran lights for my wife's 4 runner, best friends tundra, and fil's 2006 LC as well as mine and they are nice but don't project light for approx. 5 feet which is our only complaint. Its like you cant see right behind the truck. Anybody been able to alleviate this?

I have had the 5w version for a year or so, they are bright but too focused, IMO. I just ordered the 7w version, hoping it spreads the light around more. It's great to light up something 20' behind you, but 4' away is all darkness, and I can't see anything in the backup camera without putting the brake lights on. I'm hoping the 7w will improve that night vision, should find out soon! I'll stick the 5w's in another car...

We have the 5W's in our 4R and I'm happy with them overall, but like said already they are almost to focused. After I see a review on the 7W's I might pick those up and put the others in another rig. Someone post up about the 7W's.

I just ordered the whole interior kit. But upon reading this thread, I held off on ordering the 5w reverse lights. Hope the 7w works better. It would come in real handy.

I can't speak for everyone, but don't get me wrong the reverse lights are AMAZING and far better than OEM. I'm just saying there's room for improvement as there is with anything.

I'm personally hoping to eventually replace as many of my bulbs with LEDs as possible. :D

I like them, but to be honest I think they're most useful for letting other cars and pedestrians know you're in reverse. The light is super focused and if you're in a dark parking garage it can be difficult to see what's just behind your bumpher. In crowded parking lots though where people are driving around fast and crazy, they're amazing - you put it in reverse and everyone nearby stops and waits :D.
