The US Forestry Service in conjunction with with WATR and CLCC will be doing the annual trail clean up and marking on Saturday the 29th starting at 0900. The meeting point will be the ATV parking area at the peak on Edinburg Gap Road.

If you have a current chainsaw cert from USFS bring your gear as the number of trees down this year has been significant. If you don’t have a cert bring saws gloves loppers and anything to trim back brush as well. We will also have to mark trails as it was not done last year.

This program is a “big deal” for the club as it is one of the only recognized volunteer events that we do and it helps the forestry service as well. Please think of coming out and helping. The trails themselves are not difficult but they will have been closed since December so it’s always a “surprise” to find trails closed from downed trees. ect.

Would love to see some new faces at the event. While I can’t say 100% but I can say that in the past there has been a catered lunch of BBQ from Beans bbq In Edinburgh in the past.

Call the Ranger Station below for chainsaw class info and registration.

In that case is there someone who knows the Heimlich maneuver and is CPR and AED certified to take care of me on this event?

I am not certified, but I plan to be there and will record to witness the event.

On another note I would like to also emphasise that new members who want to try out their vehicles in a VERY friendly environment on trails that will be closed to the general public ( we will open the gates and the trails are not open yet). The trails here are best described as bad gravel driveways for the most part.
Just bring some gloves and hand tools and a positive attitude as many hands make light work.
Our goal is trail clean up but you can tag right along to make a fun day of it.

Wife's bday so a no go for me... sorry gents.

Bump,
Weather should be mid 70's. Anyone else bringing chainsaws?

The state doesn't trust me with one yet!

I've got 2 hand saws that are slightly better than nothing. Plus a few straps and a can-do attitude.

I will have my brush trimmer.

And a little less of a can do attitude!
I’ll bring the LifeVac for @1MOA
