That one takes the longest of all the hoses on these trucks, I think all other hoses took less than an hour to remove and replace, but the phh took close to 2 hours because I didn't have my tongue just right. I went with OEM for all but that one used a silicone hose with breeze constant torque clamps. Also used a bit of dawn dish soap to lube it up a bit and it slides on "easier"
I replaced ALL the hose with HPS silicone and this lil mofo is no joke, im trying again tomorrow

DUDE!?!? tell me i pd 180 for them beatches

It's fine but they won't last as long as rubber. Silicone also weeps. All of my silicone hoses on my SC is coated on the inside with oil. I had a Sampco PHH and it lasted I think 30k before it split and left me stranded.

Oh jebus! Yeah, that's hell. I'd probably be pissed enough to just remove the radiator
Yeah and one was siezed. I ended up trying to drill it out to no avail...

I am looking for one of the metal tubes for a 1FZ. If anyone has one please pm me. I would like to remove the bypass the PO installed and go back to stock set up with silicone hoses.

Thanks.

OK, I believe you but I am wondering what others have to say about the failure rate on the silicone PHH or other hoses. I did my PHH when I had the head off and I used the silicone hose with the Breeze constant torque clamps. I also used a different sized section when I deleted the rear heat.

I am not worried about the heater line since that one is easy to see and to swap out, but I am worried about that PHH that I installed now. All of the old threads were advocating for the silicone hose, so that is what I bought, but now you and others have me wondering if I should hassle with changing it out for a Gates hose. The whole point of that project was to prevent needing to do it again or risking a rupture on the road and needing to do the whole HG project over.

How many people have had trouble with the silicone hoses?

I found that if you remove the brake booster the PHH is relatively easy to reach.
