To me a FJ55 (aka Pig) with a surfboard would be the epitome of cool. I tried to find a pic of a pig with a surfboard but only came up with more 40s...

And this one has women in bikinis in it so I'm sure I'll be getting banned soon. It's been a good run...

That is awesome....wish our beach looked like that. I've posted a chick in a bikini before, I'm still here. Aloha Jen and I were having a side convo about Tommy Bahama bikinis. You get bonus points for including a dude in board shorts.

That FJ is gorgeous. My dream car when I was like 14 was a Scout. I always imagined driving up and down the Seawall (street that lines our beach) in that.

Do your thing! Hell why listen to fashion from a bunch a guys that probably still wear crocs or sandals with socks??

It is your truck, throw a chunky tire on there and see how it looks, adjust from there. This is not life or death and if you love it, great! It will stand out just by virtue of being a nice 20 year old vehicle with rims and tires. Will some people hate it, sure. Will some people love it sure. But really as long as you like it that is all that matters.

I think there is a lot of pressure on mud to be like mud but some of the coolest stuff to me isn't always the stuff that follows the same mold. Order the tires and lets see that thing parked in FRONT of the shop! If you need photo ideas you can search AlohaJen on here and just use that for ideas. haha.

I've seen hers, I'm gonna have to hire a photographer!

I'm picturing beautiful women, wearing bikinis, and a gawd damn fanny pack hanging down covering their rear end. Like a gawd damn Trasharoo hanging off the back of a Slee rear swingout bumper...

Its the basic Yakima 1A raingutter rack with a round bar. I like it because its easy to install, I only put it on when needed.

Yeah, was being facetious. A bit of an inside joke. A while back @Aloha Jen posted a pic of her at the beach with her 80. A couple of puritans got their undies in a bunch and reported it. Then went on a rant that this is supposed to be a "family friendly" site and that bikinis are "porn". They don't come around here much, if at all, anymore. Thankfully...

Dude, this is the 80 section not the 100 section. The 100 is all about crocs with socks or Sperry's and Tommy Bahama shirts.
Now we're dissing Sperry's too? What kind of world is this!? Next I'm going to hear that cargo shorts are out of style!

Yeah bro. Same with jean shorts...

Jorts were never in style, that we can agree on. But in the summer you might catch me in cargo shorts wearing my Sperry's. :p

I'm guessing you'll be the dude by yourself. Without the girl in the bikini with you...

I forgot what this thread was even about...

:deadhorse:

I've been reading this thread trying to keep up and I see where your headed I think. My vote 2"-2.5" lift (OME, TJM, etc.) go with a set of 35s (i think they will fill out the wheelwells nicely, but leave you some room around like you mentioned. If you want to get a belly lift, but need the step, look into some retractable steps. They will tuck up out of the way when sitting or driving, but fold down when you open the door. The Yakima gutter mounts and a pair of load bars will make a simple board mount for you.

Throw the store logo on the back glass and some billabong stickers and the like on the back sliding glass and rock that pig up and down the beach.

Your zeal for this project is refreshing. Lots of us get lost in the "norm" and forget that we all buy our rigs for our own reasons. I know most of these guys are just busting on you, and the ones who are even slightly serious can suck an egg. I welcome you and your enthusiasm for your new rig. Make it yours and get some sand on the tires and enjoy it. Look forward to seeing how your canvas turns out.

Oh and if you catch yourself out on a sandbar with the tide coming in, you will realize that snorkel you were googling might not seem so silly.

If you want a level stance:
1. Heavy springs on front
2. Medium springs on rear

Or, heavy springs front and rear, with four 15's in the back!

This thread is full of laughs!! Thanks, @IslandCruiserTX ! Keep at it. It'll look good with some more sidewall.

My 80 at the beach...

You just made my evening. Thank You!!

Another step towards the whole package - my favorite fiberglass guy just sent me a pic of my passenger seat! He is recovering them for me.....and.....in ultimate "Pacifica Wannabe" fashion..... I'm adding SEAT HEATERS!!
