@reevesci sells a true 2" lift made by Tough Dog out of Australia. I put one (new springs and 41mm foam cell shocks) on my 93. Excellent on road ride. And you are going to need it with 22" wheels no matter what tire you out on it.

IMHO, the Tough Dog springs and shocks are superior to the Old Man Emu. I've had both and am switching my 92 over as well.

You don't need a lift to put on 33" tires they will fit fine. I wouldn't touch the suspension until you get your tire choice down. A front coil spacer will level out the ride for minimal cost.
Also, 33" tires are only going to be a little more than an inch taller on each sidewall than the tires you have are there now. I think you would be happier with the look of the 35" tire with those wheels. At least I think you would, in my minds eye the ratio of tire side wall to wheel would be more balanced?

Agree with funner here ^^

30 mm spring spacer for 33" tire
2.5" lift for 35" tire

The 35s will give you a little better ride with more sidewall as well as fresh springs over 20yr old coils with a spacer. Depending on the lift you chose you may still utilize the spacers to keep a level stance. Chose your springs according to your relatively light build to retain a good ride. Lots of info here to read.

The stock photo uploaded above with the 33 12.5 r22 is not the same size as the tire indicated. I found the picture below which is an actual 33-12.5 r22 and to me it's just not enough tire.

I definitely searched for other Land Cruiser forums besides this "MUD" one, but there really aren't any that offer anything useful. I've found so much helpful info on here. I appreciate y'all input (and opinions!)

I am not a fan of the rubber on these wheels, but I had to go ahead and put them on so I could see how I felt about the look. With a lift and bigger tires, I'm going to be pretty happy with it. I like the Terra Grapplers but they are kinda pricey for my needs.

Because I said I'd snap a daylight picture, here it is.

Is it too late to go back to the Cadillac?? :flipoff2:

I know you were being (somewhat) sarcastic, but I kind of have to agree. I like how for the most part everyone has been supportive of her "take" on the 80 series, but I don't think she's going to end up being happy with this set up in the long run.

This is a truck made for traveling long distances off road - most of the modifications members make on mud are geared towards accentuating that, rather than taking it in the opposite direction. She seems to be trying to turn the truck into something it was never intended for so it won't be very good at it. I think with those wheels and whatever lift/tire combination she ends up going with will be a major disappointment in the long run. Solid axles and huge wheels with thin tires are not a very comfortable combo...

That said, this is her truck so she can do whatever the fxxx she wants to do!

Edit: Then again, I am talking to the guy who thought turning a 6,000lb. truck into a rock crawler was a good idea:flipoff2:

Drive it around like it is for a while but keep the OEM wheels in the garage just in case. I wouldn't waste money on off road tires if the primary purpose is to drive on pavement with an occasional gravel driveway. The ride will be rough enough as is due to the large wheels/small tires, no need to add knobby tire noise to the equation.

After a while if you change your mind (as many on here are hoping for :) ) you'll still have the stock wheels and we can pick up the story from there...

May as well get a Pacifica...

Believe it or not..... Soccer Mom's are even more judgy than you guys. I'll feel a lot better knowing there are a handful of guys on the interweb that hate my wheel choices than I'd feel about myself rolling up with Dubs on my Pacifica to the Surf Shop every morning.

We now have an Escalade and the Land Cruiser, I drive the LC everyday to work (approx 6 miles, over 3 rail road tracks, thru 3 lights and over one viaduct) and we use it to pull the boat to the ramp (21' shallow water bay boat, pretty small load - and we live like a half mile from the boat ramp). Hubs drives the Escalade to work everyday ( off the island approx 40 miles each way, mainly highway). If I were to do something like.... leave the island to spend the day in Houston we'd swap cars and I'd take the Escalade. My "everyday" drive consists of coming to the shop, hitting the drive thru bank for a deposit, maybe going to the storage unit and back to the shop and possibly running the Boerboel and Pit to the dog park. I will be getting an advertising something or other (back glass piece probably) for my shop also. Surf Shop - think.....Oakley, Reef, Maui jim, Billabong, Hurley, Quiksilver, Dewey Weber, O'Neill, etc..... shop has been open since 1985, need to appeal to young and old. So my ride needs to look clean and slightly unique, I can't find a VW Bus I can afford that would work for my everyday life so here we are.

Completely flat island, East/South-ish Texas, no mud, mountains to climb, no long distances to travel. My criteria for my last 6 vehicles has always been the same - *white exterior, sunroof, leather, cargo room* (Add on to that it spends about 6 hours a day parked outside the shop and would be more fun if it looked kind of *unique*).

I definitely don't expect you guys to guys to see my "vision" but I don't want y'all to think I'm completely crazy either. I don't think I am...I think in the long run it will have a pretty cool look to it, that's what I'm going for.

Not enough tire to me here either... but that's a full size truck with a lift and pretty big wheel wells. I don't know if I can use that to compare.... but I totally get what you are saying. I gotta make sure I'm falling in love with a legit representation of what I think it is. Stock photos - ugh. Shouldn't be allowed...don't these people know I'm an extremely visual person!?

When there's any kind of aesthetic consensus amongst male truck enthusiasts on the internet, going 180 degrees opposite is almost obligatory. In other words, keep on rocking those wheels (regardless of whether anyone likes them) and driving a sweet Land Cruiser.

You're probably right! I'm big on the visual ratio......that's why I couldn't handle the 16's....

Do your thing! Hell why listen to fashion from a bunch a guys that probably still wear crocs or sandals with socks??

It is your truck, throw a chunky tire on there and see how it looks, adjust from there. This is not life or death and if you love it, great! It will stand out just by virtue of being a nice 20 year old vehicle with rims and tires. Will some people hate it, sure. Will some people love it sure. But really as long as you like it that is all that matters.

I think there is a lot of pressure on mud to be like mud but some of the coolest stuff to me isn't always the stuff that follows the same mold. Order the tires and lets see that thing parked in FRONT of the shop! If you need photo ideas you can search AlohaJen on here and just use that for ideas. haha.

Dude, this is the 80 section not the 100 section. The 100 is all about crocs with socks or Sperry's and Tommy Bahama shirts.
