Yikes, this thread is a train wreck.

Things that should never be done:
- 20"+ wheels on a Toyota truck
- Rubber band tires on a Toyota truck
- Driving around with a surfboard on your roof if you aren't actually driving to surf (kook)
- Stand up paddle board in the ocean (you're not Laird, stop snaking surfers and almost killing people because you can't control your huge board)
- Crocs (regardless of socks)

I'm ok with rolling around with a surf board on the roof if you live near surf. I carry fishing poles with me all of the time because you never know when I might see a honey hole that needs fishing!

The problem with keeping boards on your roof for more than the time it takes you to get to the beach is it destroys them. Sun and heat are the enemy, they cause delamination, yellowing and degradation.

This is great news for the surfboard industry though.

To me a FJ55 (aka Pig) with a surfboard would be the epitome of cool. I tried to find a pic of a pig with a surfboard but only came up with more 40s...
Hey, 80's look pretty cool with surfboards up top!

Plus, surfboards on the 80's roof rack are the perfect place to chill and watch the waves.

Where are these surfboards you reference, I only see Costco Wavestorms.

Wow, you are just full of opinions....let me see if I can help you out here. First off, if you don't have a couple of wavestorms in your quiver you definitely don't know what's up. My little ones love messing around and having fun on them. Plus, my husband rides wavestorms sometimes....but he also rides "huge uncontrollable SUPs" in the ocean, so you would probably call him a kook. But he can ride those SUPs and wavestorms like a shortboard....oh yeah, he also rides shortboards and kinda rips on those as well!

Wow. This thread has a lot of posts only 40% of which are not chat. And why OH WHY do people keep suggesting OME heavies? Because she tow's a boat on occasion? Why compromise an already compromised ride even further? The dang boat launch is only a half mile from home. If anything she needs to look into new bushings all around and a medium coil package with airbags in the rear for those times she decides to pull a boat. This isn't ever going off-road...intentionally anyway. I said early on that the ride would be compromised on 20's ...22's are worse, but what's done is done and if you're going to give her advice you should read through what's been said and THINK before you speak... She will need as good of ride quality as she can get, she doesn't have to worry about rubbing because of the lack of articulation her suspension will see, she shouldn't look for an MT type tire because the ride is likely to worsen, an AT is a good compromise. Heavies will make the suspension too stiff for daily driving unless you're really loaded down and will be a jarring ride with that big of wheel and little amount of tire. You would do best with a medium coil and some front spacers to level it. A high quality shock will be essential. Airbags in the rear for towing stuff would be a smart way to go. Locking lugs would be wise also for security purposes. That's my $.02

There's about 5 posts in this 8 page thread with factual answers, the rest is opinion, welcome to the internet.

I live in NY, there's no waves here ever, I definitely "don't know what's up."

Not a fan of SUP'ng the Gulf, I usually just hop off the dock in the backyard and cruise the Bayou. (this is Texas, we don't have very impressive waves or very angry territorial surfers). Loving my 22's...quite the conversation starter, and I'm very much a people person.

I am pretty sure I have a barter worked out with a local auto accessory guy, he is hunting a lift & some 35's that will work with what I have going on. I love a good trade.

Seats are in and look and feel amazing! Now I have to take them back out, wire up the seat heaters and try and fix the "scoot forward and back" mechanism so the hubs can drive without getting a cramp in his foot.

And my engine light came on last night, thinking transmission fluid is low, gotta figure that out too.

Half-butt pic of new upholstery on front seats and console.

Gamaviti seat gear caps are what you need. They are pretty inexpensive to solve the problem.

Ordered! thanks! I attempted to move this manually once per instructions on here. I couldn't get past the first step. (removing panel on front of seat) I couldn't find the damn screws to remove it, the front of the seat came wayyyyyy down over it. Now that I know how easy it is to remove the entire seat I'll just do it that way.

And this one has women in bikinis in it so I'm sure I'll be getting banned soon. It's been a good run...

I have to laugh... That was taken at my local beach. Here's the posers on what looks like a different day/different dog(wtf), but same clothes:

Haven't been to the ih8mud forum in a while, meamwhile, swapped out the tires, Nitto Terra Graplers won 33/12.50/R22.
No rubbing or anything like that. New shiny rotors, (these were black, had them on for like 5 days and they are silver, wth is the point of selling black ones if the paint is just gonna rub off?)
The ride is fine, noticed a huge difference when I swapped out the rubber from when I bought the wheels, (obviously....there was barely any on there).
So far I'm happy with how she looks and rides! She needs a bath and I'll post a better pic with newer tires on, it's been raining in TX a LOT this week and I can't keep her clean.
Current 2 issues: 1) need to order new gears for the seats, I tightened them way too much on install and they never worked in the first place, just been super freaking busy with summer at the shop (which is a great thing).
2) the freaking A/C is not blowing cold whike idling....its actually blowing pretty damn hot. Sitting in a drive thru line is freaking BRUTAL. Blows cold as s*** when moving, it's just if I have to spend any time not-not-moving it turns to sauna mode really freaking quick. Working on figuring that out.
Ohhhhh...remember those center caps that I totally HATED so mine were naked?? I got new solid black ones and then .... I mongrammed them.

Still want a 2" lift. Well, really I want more, but will have to go up to a 35" tire If I do that, so I'm trying to convince myself I'll be happy with 33's and a 2" lift.

The black coating on the rotors is corrosion protection for everywhere the brake pads don't touch. Of course it will wear off under the brake pads. :p

Need more pics!

Your fan clutch isn't engaging early enough, basically. If the truck isn't running hot in any other way one fix is to wire up an auxillary fan for the AC condenser.. this sits in front of the assembly and turns on any time the AC clutch is engaged. Just provides some help moving air over the core at low vehicle/engine speeds. The other is to rebuild your fan clutch with thicker fluid and adjust the built-in thermostat to open sooner. Will make more noise at low speeds and probably reduce mileage slightly.. but ultimately it'll pull more air over the AC condenser at low speeds and help AC in those conditions. Search "landtank" fan clutch mods or buy one pre-modded from Landtank or NLXTACY

And for the record.. if the AC compressor is still operating while it's blowing hot it is realllly bad for that unit.

If you've already done the fan clutch tweaks sorry.. didn't read all the way through this thread.

I need to get down to galveston.. been years. Only ever even tried to surf once for about four hours (in australia).. is there anything decent to try and learn on down there?
