I discovered my sway bar sheered off on one side of the axle today. I'm not exactly sure how it happened.... :hmm:Anyway, what is the best way to repair this? Also the other side is severely bent.

You images aren't showing up for me, so my comment may not be on point ...but wouldn't you replace a sheared swaybar, rather than repair it? ...so CruiserDan or perhaps http://www.cruiseryard.com/ or the classifieds here? Plenty of rigs being parted out.

I think he's talking about the bolts that hold the bracket to the frame. Mine sheared off as well, but I wheel mine quite a bit, so I just removed it completely (even daily driving, I'm not in the habit of speeding around corners). Love the flex! Need to add a couple of tabs over the bottom hoop of my rear springs though to keep them from popping out.

To repair, I'd imagine you're going to need to drill out the old bolts that sheared off and get some new bushings and brackets (perhaps...I can't see your photos either) and possibly another swaybar if it truly is bent up.

*edit* Just realized you were probably talking about your front sway bar. I was referring to my rear.

I'll try to work on the pictures, but its not the bolts or sway bar, it's the bracket that is welded to the axle.

I bought the above tabs and replaced the original wimpy one on the driver's side. Passenger's side hasn't broken off. Yet.

ditto to surfpig, those landtank brackets are great, welded to axle and no more problems. I am actually a fan of the swaybars on these trucks, I rebuilt my sways and my truck drives really nice on the curves and mountain roads. On road driving is as important to me as off road so.....

Are there any other manufacturers or should I just stick with overland's.
