I dress like that to ride the 4 wheeler 5 miles to go get the mail. Love my electric gloves and the thumb heater. The double wide and long scarf the X made me is wonderful.

So i didn't get to make it to round up this year. She left me stranded on the way there. In my anger. I decided to upgrade to a Sniper 2 EFI and eliminate the possibility of radio frequency interference.

Today was install day and thanks to Hunter from Land Cruiser Specialist, it was done in no time.

Took the old one out only to realise i had the wrong spacer on there. It was for a TBI and not for a 4 barrel set up. We installed the correct one with the Sniper 2 and a better air cleaner. What a difference!!

And this came out of the fuel filter. Explains why it hesitated.

Going back to using clear filters.

Love the build! re: the Sniper, it just confirms that most Sniper/Holly EFI issues are user error/fuel supply (not picking on you, I’m a master of errors!). I read all the Holley EFI threads to be prepared for my next build; going with Holley Terminator for transmission control (crate Vortec with 4l60 to Orion). I like it when the solution is fairly easy! You probably won’t regret upgrading to the latest version!

No regrets so far in upgrading. I knew I'd eventually end up with the newer hardware, this was just the excuse to do so. The RFI issue is something i didn't want to deal with and this virtually eliminates it. And yes, everything i do, ends up being user error :) .

I think I'm about ready to burn her down. I took Penelope out for a drive to make sure the issues I was having are just related to dirt in the fuel filter. For the most part it ran strong. Made it to 72MPH, which in this thing feels kinda scary.
In 5th gear it felt a little weak then started to knock or ping at times and then a misfire. But it kept going, until it overheated and shut off. Looks like i blew the fan fuses and maybe the fan motor.

I was stuck on the side of the road until a cop pulled up and gave me a ride to the house and back. He was a nice guy and recognized my truck and knew where I lived from the cars I have. When I got back to Penelope, I swapped out the fuses that blew but the fan didn't turn on. I limped her home and took Big Red out. Wow what difference. Big Red gets to 77mph with no effort, I think I'm going to be driving him for a while until I can trust Penelope to be reliable.

Somehow, I blew two fuses.

My first time in the back of a police car, Not a fan.

I think the plan now is to set timing from 35* to 30* and see how she acts. She was pinging in 5th gear, feeling sluggish and even had one misfire at 65mph.
Still need to figure out the fan and fuses.
