Would any off you guys be interested in getting in on a parts 62 or 80 cruiser. I want the EFI and CPU for my 40 and don't need the rest. I know it was Alan or ALex that mentioned wanting the spilt t-case. Chuck could take the axles, they are wider and stronger that any year of the 40 series, just keep that in mind Chuck. I figured it would be cheaper in the end to buy a used one and take the parts we need and then sale whatever is left to make some of the money back........ It would be ideal if I could find a cruiser with a blown engine, because that would make it dirt cheap and I don't need the engine just the intake manifold and EFI system.

This is just something I want to pursue in the next few months, so if any of you guys would be interested let me know. I would like to do the EFI conversion of my 40 sometime this fall so I can have it all set-up for the MLK weekend Tellico trip.

In the mean time I amgoing to search some pick and pulls and see what I can did up.

If you guys come across any cheap 62's let me know.

I'd be up for it as long as I can get the power steering components I still want to do that just need to get the money together.

Yeah, you know me, I'm always down for tearing apart a good cruiser to make mine better. Search on JP, and find us something good. I can use what ever parts are left to put in the 40( still don't know when I'm going to be able to get up to IN and get that thing).

LETS DO IT MAFIA!!!!

I'd be interested in a few body panels previously described, and maybe a days worth of wrenching, and pitching in some $

Well normally I would be in like flin. But my cruiser makes it to Tellico and back and runs. :flipoff2: It doesn't need anymore parts on it. :D I'm in the final stages of working the buggs out. Then comes the frame off this winter. Assuming I have a new house and metal building by then.

Anybody know what a 1000sqft metal building cost these days?

Richard I have some steel tubing for you. You need to come get it. If anybody else need some pieces to make a roll cage I've probably got you covered.

Yeah I'd be up for some of that tubing also!

I got a quote for a 40x60x10, 10 windows,2 garage,3 doors and it came to $35,833 including the slab. ($26,233 for the building). That price is turnkey.

You can get a loose estimate proportionally.

Damn thats a lot of money for a slab. I could get that done for half that price and that's if they had to wheelbarrow it in.

And I would be building the building so Maybe I could cut that in half?

Well come on it's not getting any younger.

Damn we need a tubing bender.

Oh, my bad on those numbers Marshall. I forgot that included a full 60' length 10' overhang. My slab costs were gonna be $2.71/ft^2 . Also, that price included insulation and high rise garage doors.

:whoops:

But yeah you would save boat loads DIY.

cool, looks like we have enough to make spliting one up reasonable.......... just got to keep a look out for one that is a parts truck. I don't think anyone wants the engine, so if we are patient and find one with a shot motor, we should be able to pick on up cheap enough to make it worth our while.....

so be on the look out.

Marshal will you be around this weekend? I can probably ride up on sunday if thats cool. I'll take all I can fit in the back of my truck. Maybe Chuck would ride up with me I dont think JP will be back. Just let me know if that works.

Found exactly what I need..................... but it is on Long Island :frown:

rudy how much was it to ship yours???

man from the pics that thing doesn't look bad at all............ hey gehn that is your neck of the woods, uh shorta i think

what do you guys think, really all depends on shipping IMHO If I could get it shipped for 400-500 I'd take it......

dang JP you shouldn't post it up here....pming is a good thing...lol

well I decided to remove the link, because I am anal......... I will PM you guys with the link (matt richard, gehn)

chuck has agreeded to host the 62 for the tear down, and I am going to look into shipping qoutes tomorrow, that will make or break the deal........

got three in on it so far, Chuck, Matt, JP.......need on more volunteer ;)

what's taken:
JP- EFI, ECU, and head basically all the electronics.....
Chuck- the axles and few random parts.......
Matt- Doors and hatches, hood........ basically the body and the dash and gauges.

what is up for grabs spring packs, power steering components minus the pump, ac unit/ heater etc.... transmission, spilt t-case, drive shafts, front and rear quaters, frame, anything eletrical not tied to the EFI, and whatever else is there to be had. The cruiser is complete minus the power steering pump and it has a blown motor

Got one shipping qoute of 700, going to see if I can't get something around 600 tomorrow...... I'll keep your guys informed

Virgo pmed you, I'm in for the PS stuff you might be able to convince me to toss in more if you can convince me theres something else on the rig I could use. The shipping for me was 408 but then I they had to use a towtruck to get it on the rig so like 458. I forget who I used but I found a place online that you call them and they like post it to like independent truckers and then they call and give you quotes. Search in google and you can probably find them. I say we road trip up there and get it. Just let me know, call the house if I dont post back pretty quick.
