I should have it but I doubt it will do you any good. I will check my 65 FJ45 parts book tonight. I should ask which 45? If it's a pickup I should be able to help if a LV you might want to ask this question in the 45 section.

my book's showing a break by frame number 77001-60030 up to frame number fj45-22535 and 77001-60031 up to frame number fj45-24185. 77001-60032 for frame numbers after that. book covers 65-67. the previous numbers may supercede directly to the last number

Here is the part number for the 65 FJ45LP-B gas tank 77001-90332.

Thanks, mine is in the FJ45-21 Series and I am hoping that the part # will help me get some spects or visual representation so I can get one replicated.

65 short and long used the same gas tank. I the same as the FJ40 of the same time. %ill neck is a little different. Could post pictures of the two side by side.

Can anyone tell me what the toyota part nuber for a 64-66 FJ45 fuel tank is?

I'll plagiarize, "Rocking Horse s***"

if you come across an early 40 series tank and filler neck, you can steal some material from the neck and slightly reduce it, than tig it to the tank filler to create parallel fillers requiring a straight, 40 series like rubber coupling. I've got one mocked up that I could take some pictures of if interested?

happy hunting:beer:

I installed the FJ40 tank yesterday. however, the tank sits 3/4" higher and 1/2" longer. this is not compatable with the customized seats that were installed before I got it. I can't put the pasenger seat back in. since I do not have a welder and stock,, I have to work on finding the original tank.

Is that 45 tank still avail? I was probably putting in the con fer rear I have in the garage if not

Shortbed fixed top tank dunno if same as removable or not

Here is afew more. The 45 tank was in a 65 but not mine. Looka to be a replacement tank. Don't believe it came with any seats so I'm not sure if the two extra bumps it has on the top with fit with the stock 65 seats. I jsut know the owner was trading the tank to a guy for some 40 parts. Told him it wasn't correct for a FJ40 and traded the guy a 40 tank for his 45 tank which in in turn traded away. Everybody was happy.

I have a couple of questions. Instread of asking them in the for sale section I figured I would ask it here. https://forum.ih8mud.com/wanted-parts/530761-need-fj45-fuel-tank.html. First my spare 45 tank was a replacement by it's design. Curious a date of this tank. What year did Toyota add the bumps to the top of the tank. In the for sale thread post two."All tanks leak. Where are they leaking. Only tank I've ever had leak was 71 FJ40 I parted out in the mid ninties. It rusted because a PO insteaded carpeting.

Lastly Another option would be to find a go FJ40 and replace the filler neck with the one from yours.

Very strange. ALL of the early tanks I have come across are like the one in tornadoalley's pic: no standing seam. The standing seam is the primary issue with clearing both the standing seam at the back of the cab on the 45, as well as the seat leg.

I have had no issue height-wise with the later tanks in the early rigs.

Short story of the tank is it came out of a junk yard cruiser. It is a 65 FJ45(it was saved and restored) because of the design and how clean it is I can only guess it was a replacement tank. Cruiser was saved in the mid nineties. I've had the tank almost that long. The tank itself is the same height as my earlier FJ45 tank. AS for the bumps I cane either raise the seat a little or dipple the bottom of the seat where the two bumps are.

'65 LWB tank seems to be identicle to my '64 and '63 FJ40 tank with the exception of the fuel filler angle. like suggested, if you come across an early FJ40 tank first, you could always swap the filler neck

well I am having a really hard time trying to figure out how to delete some pics and add more,,, being that I can't upload any more then the three I already have.
However, with that sead I am learning as I go with my FJ. the tank I have that leaks, leaks more every time I try to fix it. after seeing the pics posted of the FJ40, 65 tank I am not sure that my tanks is original,, for they look identical.
My original tank is flat at the seems and the new tank that is suposed to be from a 68 FJ40 has flanges around the seem and also sits 3/4" higher. it prevents me from installing the modified seat carage. If any of those 65 tanks are for sale I would be interested in comparing outside mesurments and posibly buying one.
thanks for all the ed and input.

Angelo
