Super disappointed in the LX tube lights. They're so dim!!

Was so excited that I managed to make them work, until I hit the button.

Going to scrap that idea.

Have you tested them at night? Your picture there looks like daytime, haha.

For the tube lights, I'd want them visible, as they are in the OEM fashion. Right between the slider and the door sill, front of the pinch weld.

It was dark. Night mode on the camera is deceiving (and makes them look brighter than they really are lol). You can't really make them fit between the frame and slider. The gap would have to be about 1" to fit the ends of the lights, which wouldn't be idea.

I was wondering the outcome of this too. Regardless, if there is a buy list or group buy in the works please include me! Looks like you'll have your work cut out for you!

I think we have a final design!

I designed the light tab on the "pinch weld guard" around the procomp rock lights. They're only $90 for six and I did 3 mounting spots on each slider. It should aso work with the hella cyclones and amazon cheapo lights that look similar to the procomps.

Wow wow wow......
Awesome job, these look awesome

Really like the design, Rami. Cool to see such a *step*. I'm excited to see how they look all prettied up with a paint/powder coat. Nice work!

Thanks man. Luckily my powder coater is a 100 guy too, so we're going to work out a deal for a set of sliders. Thinking I might do mine in white to show off the "factory" look

I'm really liking these. I need a true step if I'm going to replace the factory running boards. kids and wife need a step to get in and i need a step to get to the roof rack. Put me on the list. Great job putting out something different. Now if we cold just get someone to make a bumper that has more of a factory look to it.

These look amazing. I am in for a set. Question - where do the light turn on? Is this an added switch, or only available for the LX470’s? I have the LC and want the lights! Thanks for a great option!

On the LX, these can tap into the factory wiring for the running boards. Its more complex on the LC. You can tap the dome circuit to make them act similar to the LX factory or just put them on a switch.

I want a set too ... Like everyone else is wondering ... Have you worked out a price point yet? I am sure I'm not the only one full of anticipation.

My initial goal was $500 base price. That will likely go up a bit based on ridiculous metal prices right now and the extra material/work to make the pinch weld guard. That $500 price was when I thought I could get away with just a 2x6 and be done. New goal is sub $600 and I think I can make that happen, but I need to really dial in time/material cost to be certain.

Shipping is another animal but these should still be the cheapest offering on the market even with shipping.

I'm way into these. Been watching the development and I really like the integrated light idea.

Saw these little guys at Harbor Freight yesterday.

Thanks! I actually picked the procomps because they're a great deal. $90 for 6 lights. Id probably pick those over the HF ones at the same price. The HF should fit though.

Thanks! The slider tubing is totally welded up. There shouldn't be any water getting inside the tubing itself.

you could toss a couple ice cubes in for everyone, before you weld them up! ;)
