Damn this looks like a good time and right now the road from my moms place.

So from what I'm reading on instagram there are a lot of pissed off people at the event.

Read the same thing there and other places. If what I’m reading is true it’s understandable and I’d be pissed too.

After looking at the long line of tractors and skid-steer loaders beginning to pull people out on Saturday, we elected to bug out and pitch camp in Pisgah. I suspect it was our last time attending the Expo.

On a good note, the camper navigated the quagmire like a champ, never spinning a wheel.

Perhaps
Troll
Hole
Cruisers
;)

See what ya get for being so nice

Okay but no Mr. Snarky, I already asked one of that party and was given a not sure. The alcohol was freely flowing Saturday night, though.

We tried to go Saturday but got trapped out at the Music Center with a shuttle coming every 30 minutes. We waited for two hours and decided to bail, I was pissed briefly but we ended up at Sierra Nevada and my mood improved immensely.

You physically can’t be mad there. It’s Science.

And science it is, math actually. Its all queueing math and theory, got a few textbooks on it from my grad school days.

I saw a FB post where a guy said he and his family flew in from Idaho and rented a 4x4 to camp at the Expo. It was such a cluster f@ck that they ended up camping in a Cracker Barrel parking lot instead. Awesome way to blow through a huge pile of cash with nothing to show for it but maybe some old fashioned rock candy or one of those wooden puzzles with the golf tees. At least they ate well.

I think I will stick to camping in small groups with folks whose company I enjoy...for free, or at least on the cheap. Seems to me that that is the true essence of camping anyway. I guess I'll just never be a real overlander and I'm okay with that.

As I was standing in line listening to the conversations I had one of those "what the hell am I doing" realizations.

Funny...I had that same feeling in your driveway as we were loading the 55 onto the trailer!

Trying to find the 100 fail video of the weekend at expo. I was taking the white hundy up the mud covered hill by the BFG tent with a large crowd watching. 4 to 8 inches of mud, incline, etc. And I forget to the lock the center diff. No dice. Had to back into a spot and carry the beer to the bfg guys. Lesson learned. The big gray heavy azz overlanderproject van with center lock only powered right up. A bfg guy flimed it. I am telling myself center diff and a little momentum would have helped. The guys at the trollhole tent on Saturday night said I to turn in my Land Cruiser keys. I almost shot beer out of my nose. The next morning the only truck to drive up was the 1994 white 80 on 37s that we raced at 36 hours this year, everyone else parked at the bottom.

Haha....I could sense the apprehension. I'm just glad your kids were there or you might have wised up.
