@CharlestonG8R - We'll be ready to go as soon as ya'll are. I'll plan to be loaded on Wednesday eve. I'd rather leave earlier than later; and enjoy the ride to get there. @dbenke - what say you?

@Land Speeder - I like your style. 'Roughing it' doenst look so bad when you have those amenities...

my idea of 'roughing it'

Nothing at all! It was a classic SNL Chris Farley skit :D

@Trollhole and @Teddy , I checked with the folks at Tellico, dogs are allowed in the cabin for a $25 fee. Anyone staying in the cabin - let us know if you have a dog problem or an allergy or something... Or if you just don't like dogs...

A few last minute updates. Fires are allowed at the campsites in Doodle's field where we will be at. They sell firewood on site, but I'm sure there is a mark up. I'm bringing a load of firewood with me for a bonfire on Saturday night. Also, they have no dumpsters on site, so we will need to haul all trash out. I will have my trailer, if anyone is unable to get their trash out. The cabins are all up on the mountain next to the primitive camping so everyone will be close together. Finally, they said RVs are not allowed up the mountain at all, but they can park by the office.

I'm planning to head up Thursday morning and hope to be there by 1300 at the latest. Anyone coming through/leaving from the Greenville area is welcome to caravan.

Sounds great!

And see, this is my kneejerk, I don't know what "up the mountain" is until I see it myself. Surely can't be steeper than Golden Mountain road to the top camp.
Can't wait! See ya'll in a few days!

The road(trail) up the Mountain is steep rocky moderate trail that is not two vehicles wide and is muddy if it rains and probably require 4wd to pull empty trailer up if it is wet.

Yikes. And "camp" is up at the top?

Also if everyone will remember to bring plenty of water, with it being primitive camping I don't really want to run out. Granted it's supposed to be cooler up there which will be a nice change. I'm looking forward to this weekend, safe travels guys!

Something I've wanted to do now since Tellico has closed, was to go back to see what all can be seen. I realize the trails are closed, but I have heard that you can atleast see "Lower 2" and how overgrown it is. Might try to sneak an afternoon trip across old Number 1 trail since I've heard it's now paved.

Luckily this just got quoted and I saw the edit.
I own a dog, but he is not coming. I'm a huge dog person, love them, however, human vacations stress dogs out when being taken out of their "den". They don't daily go to work, to friends house, to walmarts. Anyway, I dislike multiple dogs in camp. It becomes about them and keeping them happy and seperate and not fighting, which is the exact opposite of why I take vacations.

Long story short, anyone can bring their dog, I just do not prefer being around multiple dogs that aren't accustomed to being around each other.

It's almost here!! If you haven't registered save yourself the 10 bucks and pre register, sales@upstatecruisers.net. Cost is 25 bucks for your t shirt and some good eating Saturday night! It's gonna be one hell of a weekend, can't wait to see y'all there!

A bit of bad news / good news on my front. Bad news is that I won't be making it to this event because... Good news, I started the process of building a shop to work on my toys. it's going to be a 30 by 30 and I hope to have a HAMOM soon after we finish. Hate to miss it but it's just not in the cards. Have a good time y'all.
