Leaving out of Blue Ridge shortly - going to stop at Fastenal and get ice in Murphy, then head up the valley.

So cell coverage must be bad cause there should be at least one picture by now. :moon:

Limited reception from here.

While I can appreciate the complexity of Rotel and other SC foods, mayo on hot dogs is just beyond me.

Wish I could have made it.

we got home about 9:30 this evening, we wrapped a few other stops ( some college visits) in this trip and actually covered everything we had planed to in total clocked well over 600 miles in the cruiser today alone. We just wanted to let you all know we had a great time. The trails, The scenery, and the people were AWESOME. It was great to see most of you again and meet a few more of the upstate crew. I know the kids really enjoyed it and we would go back to there again at the drop of a hat. Next time we will pack a little heavier and camp.

Back to the roots was certainly the theme this year and we lived up to it. Place is awesome. The trail just to get into the field we were camping along the river was interesting. Drove my stock 80 in with a low hanging hitch and haul and it proceeded to grade the road.

Blue and I had a really good time. Was very relaxing and the food was great. Was great seeing new and old faces. Weather was perfect.

Couple things I learned for next time.

The trail to just get to camp can only be driven on by a 4x4. A 2wd pickup maybe. Vehicle Trailers won't make it. Any stock landcruiser can make it to camp with zero damage. Takes about 30-40 min to get to camp once you have entered the park. Best to bring everything with you all at once. Tons of space at the field. The Trout stream we were on was really nice. Ponds look to have lots of fish in them.

The place is right beside old Tellico so the feel is exactly the same. Murphy hasn't changed.

No cell service at camp. Zero. Which is nice to be disconnected. There are a couple spots on the trail in where there is service and they are marked. Trails are marked well. There was an emergency sat phone where we were. We need to make sure we have a portajon there next year. Could see us doing MLK weekend here as well.
