X-post from Instagram. Tailgate rust repair. Cheap, but time consuming method of fixing the issue. Skim coat of bondo and hopefully no one will notice there's over a full day of work in this one part

Did you crimp the new piece around the top of the tailgate or just weld it up and “blend” it? I’ve got a door I could work on, but that one crimp part has me hesitating.

Finally got around to finishing up a 300 blackout pistol build. Now I just need to take the time to setup the reloading press.
I just finished fixing the skin on a door and I retained the lip, bent it over and whatnot. Didn't bother to do that with the tailgate, just too much of it to rebuild, and it's not visible ever.
Here's the door skin after the patch, and after it was rejoined with the inner half.

@S4Cruiser That one is actually a Maxim Defense. It looks cool, but now I prefer the SB Tactical braces for the ergonomics, no proprietary internal parts required, and price.
Made a key chain for the bronco.... Drill slipped so didn't come out as nice as the one I did for the rally car a few months back.
Well hell my last cruiser was the dubverlander
I friggen wore out those tires on the fire roads around here lol

You have much more faith in the Structural integrity of that machine than me. Have you seen those strikers?!? Plus only 3 out of 6 doors even open
Always fun to freak out the supermarket moms popping out of the side door after parking.

My $25 parts washer is all cleaned up. Just need to grab a pump for it.

No, I bought a $350 pressure washer to clean it up.
