Starting a thread to show orikawa panel installs, shop happenings, trips, and even my favorite JPN/USA tools for this work.

We are an Arizona based company and in shop space with LandCruiser Grilles.

Thanks everyone for your kind support already.

I'm almost done installing a full set of Spenser's panels (still need to do the tailgate), and all I can say is they are 100% worth it. Great quality, great look, and Spenser is super easy to work with - he took the time over the phone to talk me through an install question I had.

This was fun custom work to jam a full size 10" into the shallow 5.5" of quarter depth available. Waiting on hardware to complete the install.

O K for orikawa... an homage, if its not obvious, to the venerable KC HiLites I am lucky enough to share Northern Arizona with.

Oh, and ori - kawa is "or ee" " cow wa" ... just a mashup for the english "ori-" prefix like in original or origin, standing for creativity and first principles kind of thing, and -kawa which is simply Japanese "river".... so, creative river or original flow. Nothing too deep, I just dont want you guys having to buy "door panel guy" tshirts down the line to support me hahaha.

Some awesome swag will be coming soon so we can be fresh among our old stinkers :)

Cheers all

Jammed the Sony ES 10" in the rear quarter. With absolutely no room to spare and some changes to add a ton of rigidity to hold the beast still... it really boogies!

Hopefully I don't launch my marker light out the side of the truck like some bad James Bond gimmick

ok, I really want a full set of these. Saving up now.
I really like how you added speakers to the rear door. Can you share more info on that? Does the door frame need to be cut? Where did you route wiring for trucks that don't have power locks/windows?

I got lazy and did not even drill the door; you can feed the wires through the existing hole in the upper hinge plate, then through the b-pillar grommet. Routing from there will depend on your stereo/amp setup, I have a small bluetooth amp under the passenger seat. Also - I was able to fit Kenwood 6 3/4" speakers without any modification to the existing door structure.

Makes sense - I didn't know the 83's did not have a grommet. Yet another questionmark with my oddball 84.

62 Quarter Panels will be up on the orikawa.net site this week. Pre Orders will be given 10% off... after that they're stocked at retail.
Panels are color/gloss matched to the lower dash like the 60 series. ALL OEM features are retained like bottle jack mounting and tool roll. No cutting required. Japanese hardware and latches. Sold in Pairs

Contact me if your speaker situation is different than OEM. May do a run for the 6x9 folks.

Yes! Those look great! And they allow you to run the factory jack and speaker.

trying to be respectful of the OEM features - no sense in chopping up the original that we all love when it should be accounted for in aftermarket !
Thank you! That has long been my hold up on using aftermarket panels. Never wanted to alter the factory setup.
