The truth of the matter is that a huge percentage of cars and trucks are a depreciating asset. Picking the models that are actually beating the odds and gaining in value has always been a risk like most investments. It is true that Land Cruisers as a whole are an appreciating asset, right now. A little investigation into the classic and collectible car market will show that this market is volatile and follows both the economy and the whims of the consumer. Even muscle cars took a huge hit in the 90s and early 00s.
I do agree that there is money to be made, right now, buying and selling LCs. How long this will last is anyone's guess. Like any other investment, there is risk involved. Without risk a profit is unlikely. This may well be a case of "make hay while the sun shines" or it could run for years to come. We just do not know. Personally I'd take the risk and see if I could keep the 40, at least for the short term.
