I found your family rig @Hokie LX

will it fit everyone?

Get them parts ASAP. Reba is going under the knife soon.

I can not give you hard numbers but I'd say my parts cost have risen at least 35% in the last 5 years. The time I spend hunting down parts has more than doubled in the same time frame. I believe I have lost an entire economic tier as a customer base due to it. Those that were right on the edge of a swap being affordable have been taken out of the game by inflation. I do believe it is going to get worse before it improves.

Unfortunately this. We’ve been on borrowed time for a while.

After 3 - 4 months of searching, finally bought a new Cruiser in Nashville

Well, I had a great weekend wheeling at Morris Mtn and Chocco. The 40 however did not.

This is a lesson on why you should bolt check stuff before trips.

1. Locking hub comes loose because I shear the hub studs
2. Find out only 2.5 studs were intact at the start of the trip, others were already rusty
3. Decide to turn around and go back down hells revenge in 3WD and we'll leave the 40 there until later
4. Keep getting stuck going downhill
5. Remove entirety of aluminum oil pan sump on rock
6. Keep getting stuck downhill
7. Pull ignition relay and start driving down hill on the starter
8. Get REALLY stuck on a big rock downhill
9. Friends beat(with a hammer), push, and pry rock until it's out of the way
10. Continue winching/driving down hill on starter
11. Steering is so difficult put 2 people on the go kart sized steering wheel to force it when wedged on rocks and somehow not break anything
12. Finally get to an open stretch
13. Buddy says don't hit the tree
14. Get pushed down the hill while holding the clutch in trying to steer
15. Goes great
16. Until a log rips steering wheel out of hands
17. Hits tree VIOLENTLY
18. 40 now has an even more cracked frame, caved in the tub, bent the fender, bent the leaf spring, de beaded tire, needs a wheel hub and locking bin from earlier, and an oil pan

So do maintenance

On the bright side I was planning basically a complete rebuild of the 40, including a frame and axle swap. So now it's gonna get tucked under its awning and ignored until I get the head back on the 80, the 80 prepped for Moab, and probably should finish renovating my house too.
