^^ Reminds me that "Tug" would be a great name for a Land Cruiser. :)

Just added a new Toyota (lexus) to the garage.

Just got the wife a new daily driver since she got a new job in Durham. Picked up a 2014 IS250 f sport today. Thing is amazing so far!

I'm blaming JohnV and Sarah for making me want one so bad.

Most of you probably already know about this, but for those that do not you may want to look into it. We have been DISH TV customers for 5-6 years now, have had the same equipment for maybe 4 years or so. Heather and I have been talking about all the adds we see for DISH all the time with all this new technology for NEW customers, what about old customers?

I forget what triggered it but I planted a bug with Heather about it Sat morning, well Sat afternoon she was on the phone with DISH. If you ever want to take on big business over a bill or anything, get pointers from Heather, she is fun to listen to on the phone with these people. After she ate the first guy she spoke to his boss for about 15 minutes.

Yesterday, Sunday, two guys showed up and installed all new equipment, dish, outside box, wiring, new boxes inside, even a new surge proof power strip. All at no charge and our bill is even a couple bucks less per month. HUGE difference!!!!! I am amazed at how much better the picture is on the very same TV. We still have not looked through all of the new features we have been missing. I installed wall mounts in the living room and bedroom as well, big difference moving them up .

If you are using old equipment, call your provider!!

“Don’t make me cancel my account and open under my husband’s name just to get the same equipment every NEW customer gets” Heather

I hope that I don’t regret this, but here goes. I am looking for an employee for the shop. I would prefer a younger guy. The right attitude is more important than overall ability. What I do here can be learned, the right outlook can not in most cases. Up beat, motivated, wanting to move forward in life types need only apply. Thick skin required, I don’t even like working with me at times. Interested? Know someone that may be? Send them my way.

Good luck Stan!

A guy from the Boston area contacted me, looking for someone to help him purchase a LC

"I'm looking to procure a Land Cruiser -- ideally, a 1995-1997 FZJ80 but would also consider ~1998-2003 UZJ100. The current use I see is not as a daily driver but rather a summer/beach car or winter road trip car, so don't expect to put on a lot of miles.

I need some help in finding an LC that's been well-maintained/is fairly priced, evaluating it and, if needed, doing some initial maintenance to get it into decent shape. I've been doing research on some of the enthusiast boards over the past couple of months."

I do not have the time required, if anyone is interested let me know via PM and I will hook you up with the guy.

Disclaimer: I'm not a hater, or a chauvinist, or thin...

Is anyone else kinda confused by the whole 'body healthy' model thing?

I mean, Ashley Graham.... She's pretty, but I'm not sure I could afford the upkeep...

Anyone on here a pool guy in a former life or know one. Need some advice on draining and cleaning a pool.

Put an offer on a house today with one that has sat for a year.

I'm fairly sure I need to get the ground water checked to make sure the draining is safe.

Yep - I built, cleaned, demolished, rebuilt, reskinned, closed, opened, retiled, replumbed and basically everything in-between... 2 summers after high school.

Don't drain it.... no point.... Send me a note if you want the big long story. Was about to write a novel here -realized it would bore everyone else.

Most websites i've found say that draining is the best and easiest way to get rid of stains and all that. I believe there is a tree branch in the bottom of it... I could make something out but it seriously looks like the black lagoon creature is about to jump out of it.

So your saying to just treat it with chemicals, run the filter, skim it a few hundred times to where it is clearer and then just remove any dead weight sitting at the bottom.

I know there can be complications with ground water causing the pool to lift slightly if drained.

That, the water table. If it is a concrete pool, draining can crack it as water table and surrounding ground forces can push with no back pressure. Saw that a lot in another lifetime as a water management engineer for the state of Florida. If you want an inspection, scuba steve might be able to do it. But hey, if it is holding water, thats a good thing!

Yeah its holding water fine..... I may just try to take care of it without draining first and do it second if I need to.

Get all the crap out as best you can before adding chems. The more leaves and crap in there, the more chlorine you’ll need to shock it clear.

Check out troublefreepool.com

You can save a boatload by using baking soda, bleach and washing soda instead of commercial chlorine, PH adjuster and alkalinity.

Being a Landcruiser guy in Daytona during Jeep Beach has opened my eyes to all the stupid crap jeepers put on their jeeps. My eyes have never hurt so much from all the gawdy LEDs.
I know, that post was a bit hypocritical coming from a former jeep guy with LEDs on his Landcruisers...
