Anyone watching weather channel? Jim Cantore is wearing standard Miami riot gear, and they have some skinny guy standing by the hurricane wall. He is going to fly soon like Dorothy....

Dorothy left KS in a tornado and came safely back - a true role model for flying weathermen! Somehow she ended up in NC up near Beech mountain tho as an older person pretending to still live in KS and having flashbacks to Oz . . . sad :(

Of course that is what electroshock therapy can do to you . . . (Return to Oz).

Thank you sir. :)

A 16oz Nalgene bottle will hold 10.5 large eggs.

feel sorry for anyone within pharting distance of @JohnVee this weekend. I believe the proper term is "Fire in the hole!!!!"

I was hoping someone would ask how I figured out the 0.5 egg. It was kind of a mess. They really need to make a 19oz bottle.
I just figured you hard boiled the last one. Really though, if you scramble some up, you can fit more in all the empty spaces between the other 10.

WOW! That makes soooo much sense! I hate that your wisdom has moved so far away! Exclamation!

Any VW guys in the club. I picked up a clean one owner 04 Jetta last night for $500. 124k

Broken timing belt, so depending if the the piston is cracked from hitting the valves I may be building a motor.

I built a 1.8T about 5 years ago behind a manual. It was surprisingly fun to drive. I'm sure I'll build it, get bored after it's finished, and find something else to tinker on.

Have a MKIV Jetta... only reason we still have it is it is a TDI..... replaced so much on that car it is just funny. Not a VW fan.... nice looking cars and cool that they have stuck with the diesel but that is about all. Andrea loves them but even she said she wouldn't buy her jetta if we went back in time. I had a chance to buy a W12 phaeton last year when I bought my LS430.... was the same price as the LS430, faster and had a better interior but they are a nightmare to work on and the parts cost an arm an a leg. I could see myself buying another VW product in the form of an AUDI just because the allure of AWD makes it that much better.

The tow rig looks like one Brian Johnson owns.

Re VW: never again (maybe a bus or a bug). Bought the wife a 2000 Jetta in 2000. Worst POS I've ever owned. So many things broke we traded it in after a year, totally upside down on the finance, and we're glad be rid of it. Never again.

Bulk Gear Oil?

Due for gear oil changes and with 3 trucks needing it, I'm wondering if anyone has a source for cheap synthetic gear oil? I can't seem to find anything bigger than a quart in synthetic... Hell, I need like a 5 gallon jug..

you can get gallon jugs off of amazon and walmart.com... you can most likely order gallons or larger from all the major parts stores

Ya can't though....

Walmart has nothing synthetic over a quart.

Only things on Amazon in the synthetic gallon size are either chinese made oil or Lucas for $53 a gallon> Hard to justify when a quart of Mobil 1 is $11.

So... Maybe ordering from the major parts store is a good way to go - but ya know that would just be guessing.
