Brent went with me to a Science Olympiad competition wearing a shirt that says "I Get Chick's With My Physics". His whole day looked like this.

What parts of 36 hr are you talking about from a physical stand point? The most physical thing was running with the canoe at the very end.

@uzj100 if you are referring to my statements, I was focused on the Safari Triathalon I mentioned. It was a completely different style of event - think more of a mini Camel Safari blended with other disciplines including usually something along the lines of a 10-15 mile canoe race.

In the years it was run, most competitors suffered numerous vehicle breakdowns (even among the best prepared) and very few got any sleep in the 3-4 day event. Mixed in were special tasks such as remove your right front wheel and tire assembly, break it down, and swap tires only with one of your two spares. Reinstall the wheel with the spare tire mounted on the original right front wheel.

20+ years ago, the mind and body were willing and able ... today, the mind is still there, my knees and back would tell me quickly I was outta my mind.

We spent 4 hard months completely rebuilding my friends truck in preparation for this event. Found a place to rent a rally computer, had the roll cage redone to race requirements along with fairly intensive physical training ..... and the event was cancelled either two or three months out and never run again. We spent a boatload of money (w/o sponsorship) in prep and never competed.

Here's a link or two on that event ...
Off-Road Competition In The 1990s And Beyond - Trail’s End
SAFARI TRIATHLON 1995

It was one helluva competition that ran for a few years in the 90s ....

That is how we thought the 36 hr race would be. Way more physical.

There was tons of gps work and canoeing. Just not very far in the canoes, maybe 2 to 3 miles.

We wanted it more physical. :)

We had skeet shooting, ar 15 shooting and High lift jack race up a hill.

We had to remove front wheel, run it around a building and replace it with the spare.

We had 1 vehicle completely out from breakage and another one with a strapped front hub. They did finish.

You would enjoy it and go at your pace.

We went fast because we wanted to win and ended up in third. 75 points from first place. So close.

We used Gaia gps and are switching to lead nav this year. The sw is run on an iPad and gets a signal from a dedicated GPS receiver that is used in airplanes. It connects to iPad via Bluetooth. The GPS receiver can be purchased on amazon.

So I've never lived with a kitten before and I have to say they are fun to watch. I have witnessed the adage of them always landing on their feet time and time again. Which leads me to the thought.......

If buttered bread always falls butter side down and kittens always fall feet down, what happens if I strap a piece of buttered bread to the kittens back?

The cat will lick the butter off of the bread on the way down, then land on it's feet.

Which of these would be a better daily driver? Anyone have experience with any of these?

Volvo Amazon 122
Datsun 510
