Rapair Manual request for 14B, 15B, 15B-FTE

Making a request for the repair manual for:
14B
15BT
15B-FTE

I have the B engine repair manual which was put out on 1994 and covers up to the 13BT. The 14 and the 15 B engines came out post 94.
Thanks.

Wondered if I might possibly be able to conscript some of you chaps/ladies to give me a hand testing a torrent system I'm in the process of doing for the downloads site? Provided it passes testing, it'll eventually be going on the site alongside the existing download setup, so that the files can be downloaded via torrent as well as via the ftp server. The tracker is still in Beta at the moment, but if anyone could download this torrent:

[Test link removed. Matt]

and leave your machine seeding it for awhile, it'll just give me chance to check everything is working as expected. (Btw, that's just the Gypsy workshop manual, but seemed as good a choice as any for testing purposes). :D

Cheers all. :)

i'm seeding

it seemed to be working, my bittorrent is a mess of not-quite-done files so yours slipped to the "queued seed" list often, but when it was seeding, all seemed well and it occasionally showed up to 3 other people seeding.

By the looks of that, your downloader isn't handling rejections gracefully. :) The servers, (especially the ftp server), are limited to so many simultaneous connections concurrently per client IP. There are a lot of those download programmes which seem to think a sane default of several (tens|hundreds) of simultaneous connections is fine. I disagree. :D Those things are evil. They can bog things down no end, hence the limitation.

Your best option would be to download a proper ftp client:

FileZilla - The free FTP solution

and paste the link you get in IE for the download into that, and download it directly. The ftp client is far better suited to ftp transfers, and has full resume capabilities on the download, so you'll be fine doing it across several days. :)

Btw, I haven't changed anything. :) Let me know if that sorts your problem. :)

Are you getting an error message, or is it just running dog slow?

Btw, you might wish to hold off on downloading the EPC for the moment. I've just popped the latest version up there. Haven't had chance to add it to the downloads list yet though. :)

Hi! :)

I appriciate you effort to make all this information avalable to us all :bounce:

Maybe I just got lucky... but I started downloadning the new EPC earlier today... but lost my connection... and now i can't resume or find the catalog again!!

Where I just lucky or did you close your ftp download for the new stuff??

Nope. The ftp server is still running. :) It may just have been a temporary glitch with your connection which caused the disconnect, or, with the fact that I'm in the process of testing this new system, I may have had an accidental fat fingered moment. :D The site is definitely up and running as normal however, so just give it another try. :) Apologies if it was due to me having a muppet moment, btw. :D

This test torrent setup appears to be working as expected now, so hopefully I should be implementing this on the site within the next week or two, provided that no last minute bugs decide to rear their heads. :D

The normal download method of ftp will remain as is, but it will just have this new system running alongside, so both options will be available. (Just before anyone starts thinking I'm drastically altering things). :D

Hopefully, the torrent setup, (if people will seed the files for several days or more after they have downloaded them), will help to address the issues of limited bandwidth where the server is concerned, thereby making the files more readily available. That's the theory, anyhow. :D

Matt,
I know that you have been wrapped up in the torrent set up but I was wondering if you had made any headway on snagging the manual for these engines. Thanks so much,
John

Not as of yet. :) Those have been added to the elusive list for future searching. :D
Matt,
Thanks for doing this. Please keep me in mind.

Any chance finding an A440-A442 transmission manual? I haven't been able to find anything mysel after spending hours scouring the net for it. I intend to look some more when I take my vacation in a couple of days and have access to high speed to be able to look deeper and faster.

Keep up the good work, you are rendering an invaluable service!

That's the absolutely evil one to find. :D I've had quite a few goes at finding that one, and so far, absolutely zilch. The only thing I did find was some form of basic exploded diagram, if I remember correctly. I think I posted that in this thread somewhere, or in the thread in the 70 series forum.

The torrent system is in place now. Going to be adding the torrent files over the next day or two, so all files over approx. 1 meg in size will have this little icon appear next to the normal download link when the torrent file is available for that download:

torrent.png

Click on that icon and you'll be prompted to save/open the torrent. :)

If anybody notices any quirks or anything, btw, if you could give me a shout it would be greatly appreciated. :) Tested everything as much as possible before putting this new system on the site, (and sorted a couple of unbeknown quirks after that too), :D but just incase something else pops up on the gremlin front, give me a shout. :)

Btw, the longer someone can seed after downloading, the better. :) The server itself is providing a seed for all the files, but every bit of help on the seeding front would be appreciated. :)

These are backup copies of my paper manuals. I don't have RM188E for the A440 but RM314E & its suppliment covers the A442F.

RM172E - 1PZ, 1HZ, 1HD-T ENGINE REPAIR MANUAL is available from
www.mudtoys.com/manuals/RM172E.pdf (31MB)

RM184E - REPAIR MANUAL FOR CHASSIS & BODY is available from
www.mudtoys.com/manuals/RM184E.pdf (121MB)

RM314E - A442F AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REPAIR MANUAL (Aug 1992) is
available from www.mudtoys.com/manuals/RM314E.pdf (16MB)

RM314E SUPPLEMENT (Jan 1995) is available from
www.mudtoys.com/manuals/RM314E-1995-Supplement.pdf (3MB)

RM315E - REPAIR MANUAL SUPPLEMENT FOR CHASSIS & BODY (Aug 1992), minus 70
series EWD's, is available from www.mudtoys.com/manuals/RM315E.pdf (70MB)

RM437E - 1HD-FT ENGINE REPAIR MANUAL (Jan 1995), is available from
www.mudtoys.com/manuals/RM437E.pdf (36MB)

I have a few others I've yet to get round to scanning, a couple of 1HD-FT updates, a couple of chassis updates and some EWD's.

Wildsmith, don't suppose you have a supplement for RM132E, do you? Looking for a supplement to the B series repair manual that would cover the 3BII engine, found in some cruisers from late '88 to early '90.

Sorry, I don't, my FSM collecting has focused on my UK 80 series.

You are an absolute star sir. :) :D Trying to find that A44* info has been my bane for months. :D

Would it be okay if I added the ones I'm missing from those above to the downloads site too?

Thanks ever so much for scanning and sharing those, btw. :)

Cheers. :)
