Actually I was talking about the blue rig. I just happen to notice the silver strip on top of the tub. Here is a pic of my tub. My cruiser was left in a field for over 15 years by po, and this this is what I found when I removed the top several months ago. I will have to try and patch/repair the rust in these areas...Any suggestions...

Sorry mr_manney for the hijack.

Okay, I see. You guys were asking about the weather stripping in Manny's first photo. I was looking at his last on (right above your posted questions... The blue rig).

The weather stripping that he has on the rig his is working on... Your rig had something very simlar in that spot when it rolled out of the fctory.

Okay, if you are talking about the blue rig pictured above, then my initial comments were correct. Part of a soft top setup and hard top will not fit over it.

Yea I figured your original statement was correct... I was just looking for any suggestions on how to best fix the areas shown in the pic. Also, if you could see on the outside edge of the rolled metal lip, their are also some problem areas. Looks like a good coat of silver por15 to fill metal and stop additional rust and some type of ss or Al seal plate would be ideal. Also ideal for metal strip to lap over the rolled top edge. Am I making any sense??

To be honest, my first thought would be to cut the rotten section off and weld in a good one to replace it. Most pf the tubs out there that get scrapped still have this piece in perfect shape. SHould be easy to find a replacement.

Hi All:

X2 what Mark W. said - the rear 2/3rds tub I scraped still had this part in good shape.

If you want those parts, let me know; I might be able to access the tub at it's current "home."

Regards,

Alan

A buddy from work did the shooting, which means I can blame him for all runs :(

With the tires you are running it looks much better with that size wheel well (instead of just cutting it bigger). Nice work!

Thanks guys,
This was a good project to get out of the way...well worth the 2 weekends.

The brighter side about having an OK paint-job, is when she gets dented on the trail...I won't hurt as much :D

Anyone thinking about shooting their truck, let me just say "You can do it!!"
