I know that there has already been one or two threads already with guys showing there new lift. but i dont care....had to post these up. i've been driving it for about a week with the new OME Heavy lift, 285's...even with the heavy spring, i find the ride is twice as nice as the old stock springs with 240k miles on them. and i suppose it will only improve if i do bumpers and a winch.

Ga.

Thanks, for now the all terrains will suit me fine. the truck is so much fun to drive now. Best money i've spent on it so far.

nice suspension!

(now get *real* tires, eh....! :D )

Looks like the rear is higher than the front. Which shocks did you combine with the HD OMEs? Looks good though!

Looks sweet man. Can't wait till summer so I can throw on my lift :D.

Although I'll make sure my tires hang way out :flipoff2:

The springs are 850/863 and i think jus the standard shocks. no j-spring lift. I realize the rear sits a little higher then the fron but it doesnt totally bother me, i dont think it look bad and the ride is nice. I may add some spaces all around sometime. that brings up as question...how much of a pain would it be to go in and add 1 inch spacers?

(now get *real* roof rack, eh....! ;) )

Cruiser looks great!

Don't you need a speacial tool to compress the springs to get them in? I"m wondering b/c I'm having one of my friends going to help me put the lift on, he has basically a full shop at his house. His dad bought lifts, they just need to build another garage :D

I was reading some older posts about adding the Mr Gasket 1 inch spacers( which i just ordered from Summit). Sounds like it could be a little bit of a pain to put in but not a huge problem. Get the from portion of the truck up on stands, im small enough i should be able to get up in the wheel well and use my foot to push the axle down and slip it in.....lets hope it goes that smooth. If not that, couldnt i use the stock bottle jack to push either side of the axle down? i'll keep you posted, they should be here in a few days.

All you have to do to install 80 series lift springs is unbolt the shocks and swaybar (before jacking up truck). Then jack up truck, may need to push down on axle, insert spring, and then twist until it gets into place on the lower spring perch (you know what I mean). The exact same is true for the 1" spacers. No bottle jacks or spring compressors needed.

Took me 3 hours to do my lift by myself when the power was out one weekend. (Still had air from the 40 though) :D

Mr. Gasket 1" rubber spacers up front will level out that rake. My '93 rode very well with the heavy lift and 1" spacers.

Consider it....

Jody.

Installing springs and shocks is cake on the 80, you just need the right size sockets, a floor jack and jack stands.

NYK, you might want to start hitting everything you'll be unbolting with PB now because everything on my 91 was FROZEN! One day of PB wasn't enough. . .

ESPECIALLY the rear lower shock mount bolts.......
"I am Chris's busted @$$, welding, drilling, cussing, PITA nightmare"

Once again I'm so glad my truck is from the desert. I've never had to PB anything (well except for the drive flange cone washers since they were torqued on too hard).

You guys talk about unbolting the front shocks? just checked mine out....the Drivers side shock appears to have the bolt spot welded in place after it was tightened up....guess im not gonna get that off right away. I think i'll just get the front up on jack stands and use my body weight/ bottle jack to move either axle up or down and slip the spacers in.
