Team, I did a brief search and didn't find specific info with a comparison between the two OME systems, BP51 and regular nitrocharger systems. I apologize if I missed it.

Has anyone here had both kits at some point and be willing to offer an honest comparison between them? I am familiar with BP51's on my 80 series but wish to know more from you all (as I am very new to 200's) about whether the BP51's are hype or worth the extra expense etc. in a 200 series. My intended use for my 200 is for a basic 2" lift, 33" tires, drawers with fridge, front ARB for protection and possibly more at some point. No rock crawling or stuff like that, more touring and weekend camping trips or fishing trips to the backwoods. Moab and Baja, yes. No gnarly rock crawling for this truck.

What might be some ride quality differences and are these showstoppers? How often do you adjust the BP51's (honestly)? Are there issues with either system to be aware of? Other things to consider?

Thank you for taking the time to help a 200 newbie, it is appreciated very much.

There is also the new MT64 shocks from OME. They are placed between those two shocks systems. Hopefully this doesn't make your decision harder.

So, I’ve had both suspensions, but the nitrocharger were not on my 200, but on my VDJ79. The BP-51’s work great in their ride zone, but adjustability is a joke. They are difficult to adjust on a 200. I have a 2” lift on mine and have to turn the front axle side to side to gain access to the shock to adjust it. The rear axle is impossible to adjust without crawling under the truck and you must also have an allen key to keep the shock from spinning. Furthermore, I’ve had a rear set crap out because of rock roost, even with the “guards”. Then I had a coil crack on a front strut. No one would warranty it, and the retailer said I had to buy a new front set of shocks instead of just one. Last year one of those front shocks blew a seal between the compression and rebound rings while off-road. It was under warranty, and the retailer said they would warranty just the one, in spite of requiring me to buy two when one broke previously. I’m pretty sick and tired of the poor treatment I’ve received from OME’s African retailers, so I will bid them fair well in due course.

I recently upgraded my VDJ79 from the nitrocharger and OME setup to a Dobinsons 3” lift with MRR suspension. The MRR shocks are significantly easier to adjust. Only the rebound is a bit more challenging, as one has to go under the cruiser and adjust it with the tool they give you or a flathead screwdriver. Still, I’ve found that I got the rebound to where I want it, and then adjust the high speed compression and low speed compression to fit the terrain and load I have. I easily adjust the shocks at both axles and then I feel the difference in the cab. When my OME BP-51’s crap out or need rebuilding, I’ll buy Dobinson’s for the VDJ200 and be done with OME for good.

Also look into shock adjusters sticking, spherical bearings getting noisy, and proprietary rebuild parts and procedures meaning rebuilds are effectively not going to happen.

At the level of performance of BP51s there are much better options out there.

Given all of that I’d personally be looking at nitros.

Thank you all for taking the time to add your input, I appreciate it.
