Arne here is a ‘64 in River Blue, I’ve seen a few others over the years. I don’t think it was a common color by any stretch but I do believe some cruisers came in it from the factory.
Probably less common than Bandaid.

Pulled transmission and transfer case today, for cleaning (yuck!) and clutch inspection. Clutch disc is due for replacement, as suspected. Time for yet another load of parts.

Powder coat success! Prismatic 'Vegas Gold' FTW!

In some light, there is a touch more gold undertone than stock. But if you don't have the powdered parts right next to the bumper, you'll never notice.

Turn signal is factory new finish, ash tray in powder.

Bumper is factory new.

Besides the ash tray and glove box door, had seat frame parts, grab handle and gauge cluster cover done. Way pleased!

Looks great. Look forward to seeing post-install pics. Curious, what was your rationale for going away from black on the seat frames? (I believe black would be the factory color)

Early seat frames were pewter, not black. I stripped PO spray paint off to verify that prior to having this done.

All the body parts and associated bits still at media blast, clutch and related bits won't be here until later in the week. Could be bored, but I've got plenty of things to clean and detail while I wait.

And here I thought I was doing pretty good when I replaced the PO's wooden "POCKET" knob with an oem bakeolite one. ;)

Nothing picture worthy since the last post, everything looks mostly the same. But things do happen, even if they aren't terribly visible. I've replaced the spring and shackle bushings on the rear, and the clutch is all back in place now. Will continue cleaning and re-sealing the transmission and transfer case so I can put it back soon.

Sand blaster called me late Friday afternoon, it should all be done now, will start shuttling it all to the painter tomorrow. New frame rail for the rear should arrive sometime this coming week, as it has cleared customs.

Good times ahead, but some trepidation about how much new rust the sandblaster found...

Teaser...

As best I can determine, this IS River blue.

Edit - Actually, it is NOT. The spray out test shows it to be a lighter shade than expected, more like Horizon Blue with the veriest hint of purple. Not a bad color, but not what we expected.

Do I get to pick which part you can share with (send to) me? :D

If you are lucky, maybe a footman loop. Or maybe not...

No, no color to show yet, that will be tomorrow. Painter is working something like 4:00 AM to 2:00 this week to beat the heat. By the time I could get free to go visit, it was too late.

Got the tub back today. No real surprises. Floor pans might be a touch worse than I expected, but the rockers might be a bit better. Will discuss how much to patch and how many panels to replace tomorrow.

New rear frame rail arrived today from @Awl_TEQ in Canada. Outstanding part, well worth the time Kevin and I spent measuring and such several times over to get it right. Going to be really nice to get rid of that cobble-welded rail on the back.

Seems like a lot of blues these days tend slightly toward the violet end of the blue spectrum. The vintage Toyota blues tend a bit more towards the green end.

Back to the paint people soon.
