Ok, what happened? Harmonic Balancer?

The original transmission cooler hoses were 10mm ID. The majority of aftermarket hoses are 9.5mm (3/8") ID. Some that say they're 10mm are actually 9.5mm IME. IIRC someone may have found a source for true 10mm hose, try a search on the forum.

The critical dimension is the OD of the hose, otherwise the stock clamp may not give enough squeeze for a good seal. There are however multiple sizes of OEM hose clamps, the hard part, if you want to stick with a Toyota clamp, is finding the one that will work with the aftermarket hose you use.
That’s into the weeds for sure 🙂

I have been looking around on the forum, it seems to me there has been some success with Gate 3319 series hose and CTC16BAND12 Belmetric clamp. Not all of the original Toyota hoses are available anymore. I am thinking of getting the Toyota where possible and using the Gates elsewhere. I do not suppose there is bulk Toyota hose anywhere.

I have modest experience working with gas lines which leads me to think that on the outlet side where the leak is I will go ahead and replace the nipple.

I use gates fluid specific hoses and correctly sized constant tension clamps off Amazon.

When the hose is installed I use some spray lube and push the hose on. Slide CT band clamp over the nipple and pull the HOSE so the clamp is tight to the “nipple bump”

That is the correct way to install CT band clamps. If the CT band clamp slips over use the next size down.

I haven’t ever had one leak or come loose.

Thanks! Those are directions I can understand, makes perfect sense.

BrakeKleen makes a good lube to get rubber hoses over nipples.
Spray a bit on/in the end of the hose. It makes the rubber slippery for a few seconds until it evaporates, then the rubber grips tight to clean metal.

Toluene type
Or wax& grease remover

My brother worked in body shops, they kept a squeeze bottle full of wax & grease remover and called it "Slippery" as in, "hand me the slippery" for fitting up rubber parts.
50/50 water rubbing alcohol works good too. Especially with rubber lined seals. Like budder!
