My brother has decided to sell his FJ40 due to not having the free time to dedicate to it. Offering it up here first.

1972 FJ40
All original - F engine, 3-speed tranny, etc.
Runs and drives.
Needs some body work - mainly driver side front floor pan, driver side rocker panel, rear sill, driver side rear quarter panel.
31x10.50 BFG mud-terrains on stock wheels.
Extra parts included - 4-speed transmission, t-case, driveshafts, front disc brake axle parts from mini truck, heater components.

This is a great platform for a restoration project, or could be driven as is with minor work. More pics available.

Located in Roxboro, NC.

$6500 obo

PM me for my brother's contact information if interested.

Passing this along to a friend of mine who is in the market for his first 40 series

Looking for a 40 - 60 series third member in either 3.70 or 4.11. I would prefer one from a front axle (less wear), but I'll take whatever you've got. If anybody has one in their way, let me know.

Thanks!

I have one that came with my yellow truck. I do not know what ratio it is but my guess is it's the same as what is in there now...4.10/4.11 used for '67 trucks? I can count the ring gear later today to confirm if you are interested. Also - can I tell if it was from a front or rear if it's just the 3rd sans axle now?

Not looking for money but some sort of trade would be cool.

Agree, but . . . it depends - is it locked? What is the final price? How bad is it really . . .

I know a guy who went to look at at $2K 4runner and came home with it for ~$500.
I reached out, prepared to ride out there to see what I could bring it home for. No response as of yet.

edit:SOLD

1976 40. Rough body but runs and complete. The owner has owned it since 1976. Frame looks solid but the body was rusty. Spotted on Hwy54. Owner says it used to be Carolina Blue but after a few 6packs with his buddies it became camo. I’m sure there’s some more stories in his 42yrs of ownership.

3k obo. Owners name is Kevin. Talked to him last night for a bit. Told him I’d pass along. with the history I’d like to see it stay around.

His number is 9195991678

Apparently the owner received a lot of attention this weekend. He called and told me the price is now $3,500. Seemed odd he reached out to tell me his price was going up. Also the title is with him in Houston, TX.

Headed home last night, it was still sitting on the side of Hwy 54.

Jon, I don't know how you would tell front from rear without seeing the chunk in the housing. They are interchangeable. Is there anything in particular that you are in need of? I'll see if I have it. PM me if you want, and thanks for responding. I really appreciate it.

Here are the pics I took during my visit, I wouldn’t offer anywhere near his asking price

Nice! My Dad had several Sprites, Migets, Minis, and Morris Minors over the years.

I had several Healeys. They were a PIA in PA because of rust and also that they were British, but when they were running well they were a blast to drive. Met "the one that got away" of my youth in a Healey. Was sleeping at a party and woke up to her butt sitting on the edge of my door talking with a bunch of girls.

My 69 was a DD for several years. Would not wish to climb in and out of one now. But a guy can dream :)

Check it to see but I think the 67 is different than 68 up. If I remember right the bolts that hold it in are smaller. Meaning- it won’t work in a post-68 housing. The one in mine is also a course spline pinion.

On the slow hunt for 80 series driver side inner fender ..... need to chat with wendell CL guy for moonglow possibility but open to other options.

@AJR any good condition rust free units in your possesion?
