Early doors and diamond plate but if no rot maybe a contender for someone.
Not a ton of info but not unreasonable and looks like may be in good shape

WANTED - 79+ FJ40 front and rear axles.

Hi everyone. New forum member here....just got a '71 FJ40 to work on with my sons.

1971 Resto-Mod Father/Son Project

I'd like to get a set of complete '79 or newer front and rear axles that I can swap out in place of the ones that are on my 40. Figured this was the most cost effective way to get front discs, fine spline birfs, wide pattern steering arms, rear e-brake at the wheels, etc... I've also got a 2F and 4-Spd out of a '76, so the 3.73 gears in the newer axles will match up better until I go full-monty with a H55 / split case.

I'm not looking for a set of drop in.....I'm fine with doing a rebuild on them, but I need complete axles, WTW. Closest I've been able to find is a set south of Atlanta, which is a 6+ hour drive, one way, from my house. A bit far to drive, with the price that he's asking for them....

If anyone in the Triangle area has a set they'd be willing to part with, please send me a PM.

Thanks.....

It's a good thing he "knows what this thing is worth", whatever that means. I always thought anything was worth only what someone was willing to pay for it.

what color is the lift gate any rust around the seal?

Hey Stan- I may take you up on that brown dash.
It's a struggle because it always seems to be a matter of "when" they split---rather than "if."

One is silver, not sure on the rust. The other is Champagne and brown on the bottom I think, no rust that I noticed. What seal ?

This one has no splits so I guess its a future when.

the lower window seal, near the wiper arm where they all seam to rust at. not ready to paint one yet, would like to find a white one no rust.
