Ran across this Crate 350 with "Low Miles" on Craigslist. Figured id pass along in case anyone was in the market
GM Crate 350

This is a working 8274 for what looks to be a smoking deal. I was exchanging texts with the guy to buy it but came across an even hotter deal that I've already closed.

Jeep Winch 8000 lb capacity

Reach out to the seller through cragislist if you're interested.

Found an original yellow bottle jack, handles and clips, everything is rusty and needs to be cleaned and painted. Can someone give me an idea of what it should sell for in this condition?

There's one on ebay for $330 or best offer...

It's yellow, supposedly from 1979..

Saw the one for $330 and another for $550. Neither of which would I consider. This seller wants considerably less. We have agreed on a price and he says he has the clips in another location and I am just waiting on him to tell me it has been found. That will look very good in the rear on my 40.

I was JUST about to ask if someone had a bottle jack they'd be willing to part with... I have no jack in my 40 :( Not that I'm trying to get you to part with this one, of course!

Haven't got it yet, he took all my cash this morning with the doors. The sale hinges on if he can find the clips and handle. I can get some clips but the handle might be a little harder.

BTW he has a considerable stash of parts including door and hard top parts.

I paid $20 for a rusty yellow jack and rods from an FJ55 parts lump that was for sale in Charlotte years ago. Jack was locked up. Handle was missing. I was able to get clips for another $20 in MUD Classifieds. The handle was too pricey from the usual sources so I cut the end off of the rod where the handle would slip over, ground to a taper and welded on a lug nut. Now my lug wrench doubles as a jack handle. Ta dah!

My nine-year old son rebuilt the jack for me and painted it and the rods in school bus yellow rattle can paint. It looks like new and works flawlessly.

The yellow jack is a wonderful piece of equipment. It is far superior (IMO) to a hydraulic bottle jack due to it's simplicity and design. The adjustable threaded shaft in the top allows it to extend much farther than a bottle jack of comparable size. It works great for moderately lifted trucks on flat ground.

I had an acquaintance once tag along on a ride with us to Coppinger Cove - he had never gone offroad and had this brand new to him PreRunner. He didn't tell me until we got to the trail head that he was only 2WD, but it did have a rear locker. He did fine in most situations, with proper spotting.
