That Pinsu rack really works with the later gen LXs. Great looking rig there.

Looks great. This is pretty much the setup I hope to have one day. Any rubbing with those tires?
After research and getting some tire size advise from local friends and other Mudders, I didn't think I'd have to. However, at full smoosh, there was some minor rubbing from this particular brand (I've now learned that each brand differs in size ever so slightly, even among the same tire size). I literally just finished triming up the mud flap a bit. It was very straight forward and didn't take much time.

My beast of burden. Lexus built an incredibly capable rig. With some minor adjustments to suit my uses: 305/55/20 Falken AT3Ws, 1" wheel spacers, LC roof rack.

Greetings TeChikis300. I really like your LX570 especially as it is towing a 27ft Airstream. I recently purchased a 2020 LX570 to serve the purpose of towing the Airstream Basecamp 20x from Virginia through Colorado, Utah, then up to Washington State, then cruise back down slowly along the Pacific Coast Hwy. Can you please help me with some suggestions and items that I may require with towing and taking the LX off the road to explore more of our Country. Thanks!!

Hi @LXploreJimmy . Congrats on the rig and it sounds like an incredible setup. Would love to see a picture of the pairing.

The setup doesn't particularly need anything as the LX is already a beast off-road. Tires are always a great thing to start with if you're interested in that. Do you have factory 20 or 21" wheels? A common upgrade for more clearance, compliance, durability, and traction off-road is to swap to AT tires that are upsized a bit. The factory has a ~31" overall diameter wheel/tire package. Many go to a 32" or a 33" overall diameter tire, AKA 32s or 33s. With that I would also recommend an air compressor to be able to adjust tire pressure to suit the terrain.

Doesn't need much more than that as the LX already comes with great suspension and lift capability to rival most anything else.

Thanks a bunch for this information TeCKis300!! I will make sure to take photos of everything. Also, thanks for the reminder that the LX is already a beast!!

Got and LX after not being able to find a LC that i like. Of course is for the wife and kids. Hopefully they will hand it down to me at some point 😜

Did a day trip to Death Valley. Went to the Racetrack and did Lippincott pass.

^Nice. I have fond memories of that trip dragging along the family.

Much have been fun with your particular setup, with endless stretches of rolling track through the desert. Did you catch any air?

I did, but on the road passing over the numerous dips. :D

Forgot to post some pics from this summer. I did a ton of offroading this summer (all in Colorado) including Medano pass (Sand Dunes), a bunch of trails in the four mile area (outside Buena Vista, including Bald mountain loop and many others), also Pearl Pass twice (between Crested Butte and Aspen), and most of the other trails in the Crested Butte area. Also did Crystal Mill and some others in that area. Peal Pass is about as much as I want to do in this rig, it is a beast of a trail. I really don't seem to have any good shots of tough parts of the trails, just a few beauty pics, but you'll have to trust me that its gotten through some tough spots.
Its funny how people think Im totally nuts taking a Lexus up these trails but that's what I bought it for. Its definitely pin stripped. Soooo many scratches down the sides, but again, that's what I bought it for. This is my 4th Cruiser and just because its by far the nicest one doesn't mean it gets babied.
Mods: TRD wheels and Duratrac 33's, slee sliders, and ARB Drawers which are a game-changer for me. I also added that tailgate light which is a must. Also the Key card which is also great bc I don't carry any keys anymore. I have ordered custom bumpers but I guess its taking way longer than planned bc I still don't have them, so Ill have to see if that works out or not.

2016 LX vs my 100 series (Ive owned 2, still have 1) and an 80 series: The 200 is such a superior vehicle, mostly because of the power. I tow a trailer up and down I-70 and other Colorado mountain passes and I love having unlimited passing power at 70mph at 11,000ft. Its also just so damn luxurious which is awesome. Also, AHC is the best suspension Ive ever had and I have modified all my LC/LXs with various aftermarket stuff in the past. The thing gets really high and handles everything offroad with ease. I offroad with a really decked out 4 runner with ridiculous suspension and my truck seems to handle everything as good or better. Its also just crazy how quite and nice it is inside the vehicle when offroading, passengers that hop in and out of the other trucks that come with me also comment on how smooth and quite it is in comparison. But where AHC really shines is with on road performance. I put it in Sport+ when towing or on windy roads and it handles WAY better than any other truck this size has. Hard braking doesn't pitch the car hard and it doesn't tilt too much in turns. And I love lowering it for parking garages and just to get in and out easier. Its a fantastic system. Also the crawl control stuff works incredible and I have had to use it many times. No doubt that Im taking this thing to its limits on a regular basis.

I’ve been wanting to do Pearl Pass and had intentions of doing it in 2019 but ran outta time. I was just in BV in September but work took priority.
Looks like you’re using it for all the right reasons!
