Rusty: You always seem to find the good s*** for low down!

That FJ55 era looking Morse sewing machine you found has to be the best though!

Interesting history between Griswold and Wagner.

GRISWOLD AND CAST IRON INFORMATION BOARD
thanks for the kudos
I also found a quarter sawn oak table ( plant stand?), very arts and crafts looking. It has a tag inside that reads M. Friedman &Co. SF CA which kind of dates it.

$10. :grinpimp:

You have to look a t a lot of crap to find the good stuff though.

3 Lodge pans, 8" and 10"(?) (great for steaks!) and a small one, maybe 4"? that is ancient, a Lodge Dutch oven and round griddle.

We also have a small ancient Erie pan that's on the wall.

Are there ways to date cast iron pots and pans?

^ Possibly by manufacturer markings? Antique shop?

That, and I'm sure there are forums for everything/anything out there...

Anyone have any warped cast iron? How does that happen?

I have a Griswold 12" from my grandmother, but the bottom is apparently warped.

If it's truly warped, can it be repaired??

I use spun steel gear, lighter, easier to use and season, more non stick, and heats up quicker, and cools down quicker, so more responsive when you need it.

My camp oven lid is also my frypan, and my giller hangs from the same handles, and all fit in the same bag.

just a suggestion, but i would try it if it were me, heat it up with a rosebud tip then set a weight on it, and heat it some more. i would not try to use a hammer on it.

Very nice setup and some really good ideas in there. I have never seen the whole adjustable rods thing before but I really like that idea.

Nice steel and the fix'ns in them Darren! Damn-it...you made me hungry :D

My hoard. Some of them are rusty as you can see. Those were stored in the garage and I can only assume they got some water in them from the pressure washer or when I caught a cat in my garage. Either way they will get a good scrubbing and seasoning this weekend before getting hung back up.

I only use three of those pans inside. The flat pan I use for pancakes. I noticed that the back is uneven and seems warped but the top is as flat as can be. Kind of odd. The small sauce pan isn't really cast iron but it's been passed down from from my great grandmothers house. The handle is just about gone and when it does I plan on welding a new one on. The lodge pan is my main pan in the house. Has given me years of service. Have no idea where I got it from. All the other pans have been passed down to me.

SCORE! I just picked up 2, Lodge cast iron skillets in GREAT condition for $20 off of Craigslist. They were well seasoned, but a little crust on them from their last cooking, which came right off. I scrubbed them up, coated them with oil, tossed them in the oven for a couple of hours last night and they are good to go! I got a 12" and 18". Just priced new ones out at a total of $85! Sorry...no pics...you know what they look like.

My son keeping an eye on the stew.....
