Leaving Washington tomorrow night. Super excited! Anyone else heading south?
I'll be leaving from the Portland Oregon area very early ( 4am) Monday morning. Plan on some wheeling/ 4x4 trail maintenance on a trail dear to my heart, off of HWY 88.

Leaving Washington tomorrow night. Super excited! Anyone else heading south?
Is there a need for three jerry cans full or will two suffice? I have all three but trying to minimize weight...
Although not definite, we "might" be forced to leave the party on Saturday and will exit through the Tahoe side instead of going back to Loon. I am on the Wagon run...
Thanks...
John
Last year I filled up about 15mi from the icehouse turnoff on 50 and still had over 1/4 a tank when I exited on the Tahoe side. The 5 gallons I had in my rotopax containers went to a thirsty 40 so its still a good idea to bring a few extra gallons along but most likely your 80 wont need them.
Well, my truck isn't quite up for it this year and its fate at this point is a little shaky (may or may not sell it this year), but if anyone is willing to take a passenger.....
...I'd do my best at spotting and pull cable/stack rocks when needed.... lol![]()
You are welcome to check out the brackets I "fabbed" to hold the ends of my front sway bar when it is disconnected. It is just two pieces of angle iron with some holes drilled in them. bolted under the front bump stops (found on earlier 80's) Just like the ones in phil's thread except without the extra piece hanging down.To those with a wagon.....
Who is planning on running w/o a front sway bar? I ran one last year and it did ok but I keep hearing about the mounting brackets possibly tearing off. I have a '94 so my ABS lines are not at risk of being taken out. My wagon will be full (4 adults, lots of gear) so I am concerned about stability and lean on side hill sections, but in theory removing the sway bar should help with that. Thoughts?
Hey Brian,
My wife and I, along with another couple are also staying at Icehouse on Tuesday night (we are in the wagon run). Should be up there around 9pm.

First timer, on the wagon run, family and two wagons, looking for a recommendation on which campsite to overnight in tomorrow night. From the looks of the Forest Service site it seems that some of the campgrounds have to be reserved ahead of time. Any input appreciated!

Ahh, I wish I could make it, but I've still got final exams until Wednesday afternoon.Did you find yourself a ride?
My second rider might not make it due to family emergency... He'll call me to confirm in two hours...
Bad, thanks for the input. Also curious about the numerous restroom facilities that show up on a map (http://www.edcgov.us/Government/Rubicon/RubiconTrailMap.aspx) from Marlin's site (http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=98535.0). TLCA's info says nothing about restrooms along the trail that I can find. I'm prepared to pack it all out so no big deal, just wondering if anyone can confirm the bathrooms on the map from Marlin's site.

Hope all goes well with your friends family, and thanks for the offer!
Thanks. Haha I wish I could do that, but its a speech class. Ironically, the speech I'm giving is about getting outside/camping more.Tell your instructor to let you do a take home exam.
Anyways, my offer stands if you decide to.
Good luck on the exam...

Check out icehouse resort. You can either get a room or camp on their property for a reasonable fee. Loon lake will then be a quick drive the next morning.
