Given my dash is a like a cockpit, i'm trying to clean it up a little by filling all the switch blanks with OEM versions. I've found what i need to fill them all except the angled ones either side that i have only ever seen with warning lights.

Has anyone ever seen this blank either side used for any type of OEM switch?

you should be able to find them in Toyota without any problem .
they were popular with the BJ series .
not with the 78-79 .
I have used also other standard slots just under the air contro levers .

Hello,

Those slots were used for warning lights, namely filter, glow and engine check. European Market trucks had the hazard switch in there.

1998-2006 models had those spaces covered. According to the parts catalog, cover part numbers are
  1. LH: 55498-90K03.
  2. RH: 55497-90K03.
Hope this helps.

Do you actually mean the switch itself or just the hazard warning lights? i scoured the catalog and only found cover plates for various warning light configurations, but i couldn't find a switch there in any of the European 70's.

yeah i have oem switches on their way for the four below the air control - front fog, rear fog, rear wiper (to be repurposed) and dual fuel, as well as the two big square ones below the meters - mirror controller and dual 4WD switch (to be repurposed). looks like i might have to keep my aftermarket switches in the warning light location

Hello,

I meant the hazard warning light. My mistake.

It is likely that some European regulation required a dedicated hazard light in the dash. However, it is easy to mistake for a switch.

Notice the hazard switch above the steering wheel.

Where did you find the four OEM horizontal switches for under the HVAC control area?

How did you go with this? Any recent photos of your repurposed switches? Thanks

Hi Damo,

Could you please share the part numbers for the front fog, rear fog, and dual fuel switches?
I can only find the 4 switch covers on amayama (#55539-32010-C0), can't find the actual switches.

Thank you!

in the end i used 2 of these
1 of these
and 1 of these

there were other more modern front/rear fog switches (84165-16010, 84165-16020), but they are for models with an ECU and I couldn't get them to work with simple 12V wiring

i decided not to add aftermarket switches in these slots, but I couldn't find the hazard light blanks either, only the black plastic blanks

I also added the mirror control switch 84870-60020 to control my aftermarket electric mirrors, and the 4WD switch (with 2 switches inbuilt) 84724-60020 that were repurposed

Looks like blank covers only;

Thank you much for the info mate!
Anyone ever repurposed the 4WD switch (with 2 switches inbuilt) #84724-60020 to be a diff lock switch, and maybe the other for forward facing lights of some type?

you can repurpose for whatever you want really, you just have to find which are the switching pins. But I couldn't get the inbuilt lighting to work as they are designed for some type of ECU and there's no simple light positive in and earth out, but that didn't bother me.... the diff lock switch you can get factory, and you can easily rig the wiring it to the factory console diff indicator lights as well

In case it helps anyone else, after more sleuthing, I found the 4 under-HVAC switch options best viewed under a 75 or 78 Series;

Sadly, if you don't already have one, the rear foglight switch is discontinued; Toyota 84160-60070 (8416060070) SWITCH, REAR FOG LAMP - https://www.amayama.com/en/part/toyota/8416060070
