Quick update - larger fuel pickup opened and smaller one welded shut. Ordered the gaskets - thanks @cruiserdan

Question though, has anyone used the factory fuel switch without using the sending/fuel cut off feature? I’m just looking for On/Off and illumination when the key is on.

I opened up the Sub tank switch, removed the face and transferred it to a Hazard switch IIRC
Works great to control a relay that turns on the fuel pump!

Used to be that my bladder could outlast both of my fuel tanks. Now, not so much :bang:

There are actually two "SUB" tank switches one momentary contact and one positive on-off

I can tell you finding a positive on-off is much harder to find. You can use the momentary switch but it will be much more involved than an on-off.

Not home now but 90% sure I have switch on the right. I like idea of using hazard switch but I’ve never torn one apart

There is a post for a aftermarket pigtail for the factory SUB switch if you go that route.

This is how I wired mine. I used a buzzer to let me know when the tank is empty so I can turn the switch off.

Thanks for the wiring diagram, just what I was looking for as couldn't figure out if the brown wire was +12v or ground.

Where would be the best place to ground it?

Pretty sure I used the stock ground (BG) at the rear cross member.
