Hey guys, for those of you running 33x10.5x15 BFG MT KM on stock disc brake wheels have you had issues with not being able to put wheel weights on?

Two local tire shops aren't able to balance this tire/wheel combo due to not enough room. A third shop mentioned stick on wheel weights would work (applied in warm conditions) or weights inside the tire itself that rotate with the tire as another option.

So what are you fellow Mudders using. Thanks in advance, Alan.

There are a huge number of peeps running that combo with no issues. I just got one mounted and balanced at Les Schwab for 15 bucks...

Most of the rigs on CCOT's website have those rims / tires.

Al-

Got your VM.

You need to find an older garage/shop/tire rat to have these balanced if the normal tire rats cannot seem to figure it out. I have banged clip-on wheel weights on the outer and inner lip of the 15-inch steel drum and disc brake wheels without any issue....

:meh:

I noticed the old weights from the 60 chrome rims are slightly different. Both styles clip to the rim, but the tabs are different. We'll see what happens. Thanks for replying Steve. Alan.

There is the same issue with the BFG all terrain. I've watched my son balance BFG's for me. It takes a little bit more work but is doable. I've never seen him have to air one down to get the weight on. Just swear a lot at times.

I just talked to Josh. He said it's not the bead that gets damaged its the guys fingers. He's blackend a few finger nails himself. The rim guard that BFG has designed into the tire makes putting the weights on a pain in the ass.
