I read through the CL discussion and just ordered a MX+ (on sale for Amazon's Prime Day). @Acrad, @r2m, or anyone else with a OBD Link, have you used other 3rd party apps? Any you like (or don't)?
I originally was using Torque (app) on my old 100 series LC with a cheap OBDII dongle, and have tried it out using it on the new MXLink dongle. Torque does work, but it doesn't have the tire pressure and temps (that I could find) like the MXLink has.
Functionally (except as stated above) and visually, they ave similar.
Considering how cheap the apps are, if you don't like one, just try another. They're only about $5 bucks or so.

This 3rd party will definitely work... cheapest.. no…been using for years and still gets firmware updates to keep it up to date

Is this option (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JFRFJG6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) still the device you recommend for monitoring transmission fluid temps? Thanks.

I bought this one a month ago and it works great. I've had several OBD dongles over the years for several cars but this one has been the most consistent and the software includes everything I need without having to go find a 3rd party app.

X2 I bought it a week after the GX

The one on my Taco was hard wired for 11 years and primitive in comparison but it was one of the first things I missed

Thanks for confirmation. I have one on the way. Is there a particular app that works best for the GX with this device?

I still use the MX+… firmware upgradeable and it includes basically includes all the expansion packs for other vehicles makes and models as well using the included OBD Link app. The app that comes with it works well.

That's what I run and love it!
Keeps me in real time of my actual GPS speed with oversized tires, both trans temps, engine temp, battery voltage, and for fun lat and long with altitude.
I have a second "page" screen that has all 5 tires pressure and temperature. When I air up/down, again in real time I can sit in the drivers seat and watch the pressure instead of being on my knees next to the tire, out in the cold/heat looking at a dial. Works great!
Note that you'll have to change your vehicle setting from "A" to "Tires".
Go to "Settings" > Vehicle Editor > scroll down to "A", change to Tires, and back out to your "Dashboard"
You cannot monitor both engine stats and tire at the same time.
I've tried several methods, including using two phones, one with "A" and the other phone to "Tires"

I use the OBDLink app.

ODBLink - works exclusively with this dongle and will allow you to download the vehicle specific settings for free.

I accidentally downloaded ODBFusion and it looks the same even though it says it is a different developer. It is for different manufacturer dongles and charges for vehicle specific downloads.

I have heard other apps work fine with this one but I don't know why I would need one.

There is also Torque Pro: Torque Pro (OBD 2 & Car) - Apps on Google Play - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque&hl=en_US&gl=US
I used it for several years on our old hundy. But I seem to like the OBDlink app best... so far.
