I have the CarLinkLife head unit upgrade in hand and I'll be installing it this weekend. I want to be able to watch my transmission temps, so I expect that there's a good Android solution out there. I have a cheap Bluetooth USB OBDII dongle that seems to be fully ELM327 compatible that I expect can get me about anything I want. It worked with Carista, but I'm not excited about their subscription model. I've also used Car Scanner, which has a one time pay option.

So, what is everyone using for extra vehicle gauges?

Bonus points for any cool suggestions for Android apps that you use in your GX460!

I have an UltraGauge MX 1.4. I don't like having to rely on my phone for temps. Having a separate screen showing them at all times is pretty nice to have. I debated on getting a ScanGauge, but found the UltraGauge was easier to read.

Mine currently shows torque converter temps, transmission pan temps, coolant temps, battery voltage, and intake air temps.

Scangauge 2 here. It is now mounted in this location with a nice 3D printed mount off of Etsy.

I ran UltraGauge in my Taco for 11 years above my mirror, even a year later still catch myself starting to reach up to reset it after a gas fill up

Prefer a dedicated screen as well, gauge board so to speak. Bought an unlocked phone during Black Friday sales for $99 a year ago

Much better than the UltraGauge\Scangauge. For me.

Obdlink MX+ with OBD Fusion and Toyota add ons

I use this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JFRFJG6?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1
with their Android app on an old Galaxy Note 10 that was sitting in my closet as I kept upgrading my phone through the years.
This old phone is kept in my rig, positioned low on my binnacle so with a glance I can see both transmissions temperatures, engine temp, battery voltage, AND my GPS speed, since I'm running 35" tires.
This will also give you codes and the ability to clear codes if anything should ever occur. It's highly configurable, with options for either digital or analog (dial), and display almost anything that's monitored on your rig.
I'm sold on it...

What is the difference between TF1 and TF2? Which one are you monitoring?
I believe one is for the torque converter temps and the other is the trans fluid temps. The higher number between the two will be the torque converter.
I'm open for correction if I'm wrong.

Old Android phone, OBD Fusion, and an Amazon dongle. You have to set up some custom formulas but it will pick it up on a 460.
Yup, pull out that old Android phone that was replaced 5 or 10 years ago and pair it to an OBDII dongle and you're golden!
Don't need a phone sim chip and the GPS in the phone is great for mapping and/or speed check.
I keep my plugged in all the time since the battery is almost toast.

I use my cell phone, running OBD fusion app, connected to OBD Link and mounted to my wireless Qi2 MagSafe mount from Offroam. I prefer the one-device-do-all approach as I don't want to run an extra device and extra set of wires.
