I've done Rose Garden Hill (as has Ali). It is only a small portion of the Kokopelli Trail. I would not waste my time for this section of trail. It's really just an obstacle.

Now if you all were to take two days to do the whole Kokopelli, then it sure would be worth it.

Good to know! I thought there was a bit more to it.

Mike - did you get that thing fixed yet?

I drove the Cruiser Friday and all weekend with no issues. Several hours on Sunday in stop-and-go traffic, highway speeds, and 30 minutes at 60mph in 2nd gear with RPMs 3,500+

I am planning to drive it some more this week and then off to Moab whenever everyone is ready to head out. If it strands me on the road then I'll just quit work and live out of the back of my truck wherever it stops. I will be happy as long as we get past Shiprock and really happy if it is somewhere around Montrose. If it croaks on the trail in Moab then someone will have to drag me and the truck back to one of those mine shafts along the river where I will become a hermit. Onur is in charge of sending women once or twice a month.

Sound like a plan?

Sounds pretty good, except that if you get stranded around Montrose you will need a new GPS if you are to go anywhere.

We are going to leave probably around noon Thursday and head up the 550 and to Shiprock, but may not be going too fast.

Cya there!

Then make it Monticello. That's why I follow you guys.

I may be making an appearance again. I am going up to Boise ID to purchase a 97 FZJ-80 this weekend. My wife and I will be camping in Moab on the way home. We will be there on Sunday. I would love to share a campsite with you guys if it's alright.

come on down! Slickrock is where the majority are staying.

Sweet. Did you guys get a group camp ground or should I just reserve a spot?

Leni

we didn't really do a group spot. I think there is a mix of tent and RV folks and not much savings. we will ask when we get there to group HDC together. you can make a res. if you want.

I am working furiously to have my FJ40 ready. as usual, what I expected to take 2 days is still dragging on a week later. I have to run to the chevy dealer tomorrow and still have to pull the driver seat to check and maybe replace my low pressure fuel pump.

however, the camper is mounted on the tow vehicle and Jill will be packing it tomorrow.:bounce:

now what trails are we going to do?! 2 days out and it's now decision time.:flipoff2:

for the medium-hard difficulty, I was looking at Cliff Hanger, Strike Ravine, and Area BFE playgrounds/trails. I think those can be done in a half day maybe too. and Hells Revenge could be a good combo run. the stockers can do the regular trail and modified rigs can do the optional hard stuff.

thoughts?

Strike Ravine does a loop around BFE... might be a good idea for thoes that want to play in BFE to do it after Strike Ravine. Bring money for a donation to BFE!

Cliffhanger will be a longer day. Good times :D I had to get tugged up a few obstacles, good possibility of sheetmetal damage.

Hells and something else closer to town

Still had these ideas: Flat Iron, Poision Spider mesa's, Steel Bender

I am down for most anything.

I agree with Jared that Cliff Hanger will take most of a day even with a small group. I will be camping at Slickrock but I don't have a reservation.

I can leave Wednesday afternoon if anyone is going up early. Otherwise I will either leave early on Thursday or wait until noon and travel with the west side gang.

Who is confirmed that they will attend this event and when are people leaving?

-Mike-

I will be with the Thursday noon crowd. don't have reservations at slickrock yet either.

Flat Iron looks interesting. I may need extra gas to get there and back. looks like a ways out of town.

are the stocker guys looking for easier trails? who is going and wants to run easier stuff? we should be looking at that too.

I'm going up Thursday morning, early. I'm in spot 77 at Slickrock.

Mark... where do you hit 550 (N of Cuba?) and about what time do you expect to be there.

Hey Mike

I hit 550 about 4-5 miles north of Cuba. Its the road that goes over to Abiquiu. I would think that I'll be through there around 8:30-8:45. Its about a 2 hour drive from my house and I was thinking about leaving around 6:30. Last time I went through I managed to get behind a couple school buses so that slowed me down a little.
